Meet Kayla Barron

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kayla Barron a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kayla, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I get my work ethic from my mom. She is one of the most hard working women I know. Even with her being retired, she still implements her work ethic to learn new things and experience different things in her life. She has taught me to work hard, hold onto my integrity, and to educate myself whether it was academically, financially, or anything to do with gaining knowledge.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a creative who considers herself to be a “Jackie of All Trades”. I am someone who is not satisfied with being complacent or comfortable with mastering one thing. I am confident in the talents and gifts that I have been blessed with. I started my creative management agency last year in April of 2024. Being unsure and scared allowed myself to dive into the music industry and create something I could be proud of. Especially after graduating college in 2022 with hopes of landing my dream job of working at a music company. I found myself being rejected from music companies left and right.

It wasn’t until my mentor/auntie encouraged me to start my own and pave my own pathways. Now, celebrating a year of launching and running a business/brand. I am beyond proud of something I’ve created with the support of family, friends, and fellow creatives. MUSEMNDMGMT is my baby and I am happy that I can provide a safe space for independent artists to be discovered, heard, and seen. My brand strives to embody community, support, and creativity. Although, I am still on this journey with growing the brand. I am proud of the growth and success that I have been able to accomplish so far.

We are in the works to launch our new a la carte services to artists who are looking to shape and evolve their artistry and brand. These services are perfect for a future potential clients who are looking for help but not ready to commit fully to a management contract. We believe in making sure we align with those who share similar values and visions for future collaboration. Lastly, we are working towards curating more events for artists to showcase their talents on a stage. There’s so much more that is in the works that we are excited about.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I am happy that I am somebody who is resilient and doesn’t take no as a end all be all. I am always determined to figure out how to overcome any challenges within my way. I am also someone who is grateful to have the things and people in my life that make me happy, feel seen, and feel loved. I know without my faith in God and the gratitude I have about life. I would not be appreciative of life and all it’s lessons.

Lastly, the advice I have for folks that are beginning or in the midst of their journey is to trust the process. Your journey is just that! A journey where you’re have ups, downs, twists, and turbulence. Even with all of that. Don’t give up or discount your journey and it’s progress. You are always closer than you think you are to whatever that goal or dream is. That in my opinion is how you can improve.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

The most impactful thing my parents have done for me is show me the importance of education. Whether if it’s academically or just learning the lessons of life. My parents have both have instilled many morals and character traits that I carry within myself. They have allowed me to find my own way and support me along the journey. They knew their stubborn, goes to the beat of her own drum, wild child would be just fine and make an impact.

My parents have always supported me in all of my endeavors and my creative pursuits.
