Meet Joey Seeman

We recently connected with Joey Seeman and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Joey, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?

I believe health is the base of everything you want to do in life.

Bad health will infiltrate every corner of your ambition which will dull your focus, kill your drive, slow your reflexes, and cloud your decision-making. On the flip side, strong health becomes an unfair advantage. It sharpens everything. It makes you more competitive, more intelligent, more charismatic, and more energetic. And if you’re playing the long game – like I am – you don’t just want to win now, you want to keep winning for decades. That starts with taking care of the one vehicle that will carry you through: your body and mind.

The Foundation of My Self-Care
I treat self-care like a performance protocol. Not a luxury. Not a “reward” for hard work. But a requirement to operate at a high level.

Here’s some of what that looks like for me:

1. Nutrition That Fuels
I keep my diet very clean, making sure I eat 80–90% whole foods. This means most of my diet consists of real ingredients, not ultra-processed BS, not a ton of fried seed oils, not high sugar. I eat like my brain and body are part of a super-car, and they need premium fuel.

2. Strength Training 6x/Week
Lifting weights is one of my favorite ways to stay healthy and keep a clear mind. I hit the gym consistently, around six days a week. Strength training allows you to sculpt your body which is a fun challenge, but it also sharpens discipline, boosts testosterone, improves mental resilience, and even increases cognitive function.

3. Cardio & Conditioning
I’m not a marathon guy for now, but I mix in cardio when I feel my body needs it. Sometimes it’s sprint intervals, incline stair walks, sports, martial arts, or zone 2 training, whichever I choose, it keeps my cardiovascular system strong and my mind refreshed.

4. Sun, Sleep, and Circadian Rhythm
Early morning sun exposure is a simple but powerful habit. It sets my circadian rhythm, improves sleep quality, and elevates my mood naturally. I also try to guard my sleep carefully, prioritizing quality and a decent duration. I, of course, go through phases of very little sleep since I have a lot of work to do. However, if I am not in one of those phases, I take advantage by resting as much as my body needs.

5. Oral Hygiene Like a Biohacker
People underestimate this, but I take oral health seriously. Your mouth is the gateway to your gut, brain, and blood. If you don’t take good care of your oral hygiene, it is going to cause you many problems with other parts of your body. I ensure I minimize micro-plastics, while still flossing and brushing my teeth consistently. A low-sugar diet helps keep my oral hygiene good as well.

6. Eliminating Toxins
I’m intentional about the products I use – deodorant, detergent, soaps, toothpaste, even water bottles. I reduce harmful chemical exposure by trying to use non-toxic options and minimizing microplastics in what I wear and use daily.

7. Cold Showers & Saunas
I rotate between cold therapy and heat therapy. Cold showers boost mood and resilience. Saunas support detoxification and cardiovascular health. It’s uncomfortable, but that’s the point. I use these methods to help train my nervous system to remain calm under stress.

8. Meditation & Mental Stillness
I practice presence. I am moving very quickly throughout the day and there is always something urgent on my mind. Taking several minutes to focus on presence is a great way to continue to maintain full control over my mind and thoughts.

How This Makes Me Exceptionally Fast & Effective:

Because of all these habits, and many more… I’m able to operate at a level most people find unsustainable.

I can work long, focused hours with minimal cognitive fatigue.

I make faster, sharper decisions because my brain is clear.

I have full control over my emotions, so I don’t get rattled or reactive under pressure at all.

I don’t need to “recharge” constantly or take breaks.

The compound effect of real self-care is that I can run multiple projects, lead teams, think long-term, and still have energy left to innovate.

Self-care, when done correctly, should only speed you up.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m the founder and CEO of Nova Echo, a tech company that’s helping business owners tap into the most powerful advantage in the modern economy: AI that actually does the work.

Nova Echo: AI That Thinks, Speaks, and Sells for You
At its core, Nova Echo is a Conversational Voice AI company. What that means in plain English is this:

Imagine having an AI employee who can talk like a human, sell like your best closer, remember everything, follow up with leads, book appointments, and hold full conversations over the phone, 24/7.

That’s what we deliver.

We’ve built systems that allow any business owner – whether you’re running a law firm, a med spa, a real estate agency, or an eCommerce brand – to plug in our AI and instantly start automating the parts of your business that drain your time and energy.

You’re not getting a dashboard you forget to use. You’re getting a voice, a personality, a presence – someone (or something) on your team that never takes a day off and never drops the ball.

Why it’s special:

It speaks like a real person.

It can be trained on your products, services, and offers.

It helps you scale without hiring 10 people.

And it works around the clock, even while you sleep.

This is the future of automation – but unlike the hype you hear in the AI space, ours actually works in the real world. That’s what makes it different.

We also offer white-label options for agency owners who want to resell our platform under their own brand, so they can build income without building from scratch.

I also co-run NXTUP Club, we throw a series of immersive events and retreats for business owners, creatives, and leaders who are looking to level up.

We host curated experiences where ambitious people can connect, strategize, and recharge. Picture a luxury getaway meets mastermind meets personal transformation weekend. No fluff. No awkward name tags. Just real conversations, practical breakthroughs, and unforgettable memories.

Here’s what makes NXTUP different:

We bring in game-changing real business owners, not just motivation speakers.

We host events in insane locations – places that inspire action.

We mix strategy, relaxation, and celebration in one experience.

At NXTUP, deals happen, partnerships form, and clarity is given to those come. And just as important: people have fun.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

There have been many skills, qualities, traits, and areas of knowledge that have been crucial. Three that come to mind are:

1. Confidence. Confidence is key if you want to win. The best way to gain confidence is by failing so much that you learn how to win. Then winning so much, that you become confident.

2. Strategy. Being strategic is a skill that a lot of people like to think they possess, yet they still let emotion control their decisions. If you can get outside of your own mind and see things from a purely logical, strategical, and objective point of you – you can make much better decisions in a lot of cases.

3. Psychology. It’s very challenging to be successful in a world governed by humanity when you don’t understand the very thing that makes humans, human – the mind.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

I rarely feel overwhelmed because of the way that I choose to look at the world. However, if I ever do get to a point in which I feel overwhelmed, I like to go back to working on health.

Again, I will focus on inducing more stress into my life by working out, using hot and cold therapy, or pushing every single thought out of my mind. Doing these things gives me a reset and allows me to take a step back so that I adjust the way I am looking at the world.
