Meet Jeanee Crane-Mauzy

We recently connected with Jeanee Crane-Mauzy and have shared our conversation below.

Jeanee, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

Internally mostly. I get my resilience from the little things. Moments with my dogs, my niece and nephews. My family. They are the motivation to keep going and try again.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am a professional halfpipe skier competing for the country of Vanuatu. I also run a non profit for brain injury awareness and recovery. I have 3 rescue dogs, and 2 rescue cats. I have been a foster parent and advocate.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Learning how to handle chaos, stress, and emergencies. Being able to be good under pressure makes a big difference in all aspects of professional and personal life.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

Encouraged me to be a dreamer. Especially my mom. She never let me fall into the routine of mediocrity and normalcy. She made sure we believed anything was possible. It might be a lot of work. But it’s worth trying.
