Meet Trinity Jackson

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Trinity Jackson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Trinity, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from watching my parents work incredibly hard when I was growing up — from times when they had to sleep on the floor, to finding a way to build a life and a family despite the odds. Their strength taught me to push forward, no matter what. I’ve also built resilience through my own journey: learning from past failures and mistakes, and remembering the pain of having been in a depressed place that I never want to return to. Ultimately, what keeps me grounded and motivated is my goal of becoming a full-time entrepreneur — that vision drives me to keep going, no matter the setbacks.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

My name is Trinity and I’m 25. I’m a Chicago based graphic designer and photographer, and in many ways, a brand designer — able to offer both design services and brand photography to help tell a complete visual story. I began my journey in graphic design in 2023 and have since expanded my creative skill set as a photographer. I’m also a journalist, with published articles in the Chicago Reader and other notable publications.

What makes me unique is the intersection of my creative skills: I’m not only a graphic designer and photographer, but also a journalist. This blend allows me to see stories from multiple angles and translate them into powerful visuals and words. As a brand designer, I can help clients build their visual identity through design and reinforce it through brand photography — making sure every image and graphic tells a cohesive story.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three skills have been especially important to my journey: experience with technology, communication, and creativity.

I think people are able to improve in these areas by taking breaks. Spending time with family and learning more about their passion. Of course, experimenting more with their craft to see what works for them.

How would you describe your ideal client?

My ideal client is someone who wants to elevate their brand visuals through thoughtful graphic design and photography. It doesn’t matter what industry they’re in or what their background is — what matters most to me is that they understand and value the power of visual storytelling to strengthen their business and connect with their community. I’m passionate about working with people who see creative visuals not just as decoration, but as an essential part of building a meaningful and lasting brand identity.
