We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Seth Weiner. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Seth below.
Hi Seth, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
It is IMPORTANT to me to exercise at least 4 times a week, be this practicing yoga, swimming, running, or other physical activity. In addition to that I meet with a therapist every other week. This helps keep me centered. When I don’t do these things I feel a bit off and find it difficult to stay focused and calm. This has helped me with my business and personal life. I show up better for my family and am more present and with my clients more open and less defensive.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Education: It is extremely important to grow your business. I continue to learn by participating in continuing education opportunities, conferences, certifications, webinars, and more. These have helped me add more tools to my toolbox, provide my clients with more ways to increase their fundraising revenues, organize my systems and processes and much more. There is never too much to know when it comes to fundraising and entertaining.
Patience: This is a skill that is necessary so to give your clients the opportunity to be heard. Their ideas may not always be best practice, and when they start to share their idea you may know this right away, HOWEVER it is important for them to have the opportunity to share their ideas. This requires a lot of patience at times!
Personality: For my industry you need a good personality. Not only on stage, but one on one with people too. The best compliment I receive from people is that I come across as “genuine.”
All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
I am currently building out the concept for providing corporate conferences with the opportunity to hire us to curate a game show to kick off their event and fundraising activations during their conference to raise funds for their foundations and other NPOs that they care about. This is a new market for me as all the fundraising I’ve been doing is with Nonprofit Organizations and game shows with music and private events. To overcome this challenge I have been working on collecting all of my collateral so to better share what it is that I do, find the right contacts in the corporate event planning world, making new connections and offering a free demo for a few companies that manage a lot of the corporate events, and much more. It is planning new strategies, creating new contacts, working with past contacts for introductions, and more.
