Meet Trisha Stetzel

We recently connected with Trisha Stetzel and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Trisha, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

For me, confidence wasn’t something I was born with—it was forged, tested, and earned through experiences that stretched me far beyond what I thought I was capable of. That journey began the day I raised my right hand and took an oath to serve in the U.S. Navy.

I was barely out of high school—young, determined, and maybe a little naive. But I was also hungry to prove myself. The military didn’t just give me discipline and direction; it gave me the first true taste of what it meant to own my worth. There’s something about learning to lead under pressure, to navigate systems bigger than yourself, and to find your voice in a male-dominated environment that changes you from the inside out.

I didn’t have the loudest voice in the room back then. But I learned quickly that leadership isn’t about volume—it’s about value. And I had plenty of that. From early days managing logistics and people, to rising through the ranks, every challenge I faced built a new layer of belief. I began to see that confidence isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about trusting that you can figure them out, even in chaos.

That belief carried me through my transition out of the military and into the world of entrepreneurship and business coaching. But there’s something unique about the veteran experience that never leaves you—and that’s why my work with the Houston Regional Veterans Chamber of Commerce (HRVCC) is so important to me.

Through the HRVCC, I’ve had the honor of mentoring other veterans as they navigate their own transitions—into leadership, into business ownership, and into lives of purpose outside the uniform. Many of them are where I was: standing at the edge of uncertainty, questioning whether they have what it takes. And every time I get to tell them, “You absolutely do,” I’m reminded of how far I’ve come.

My confidence today is unshakable—not because I haven’t been shaken, but because I’ve been through the fire. The Navy taught me how to lead. My entrepreneurial journey taught me how to trust myself. And the veterans I serve through HRVCC remind me daily of the power in choosing to rise, again and again.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m a business growth strategist, leadership coach, and founder of ResultsXtreme Business Solutions powered by Focal Point of South Texas, where we equip service-driven organizations with the tools to communicate with clarity, build trust, and sell with integrity. Our work sits at the intersection of behavioral science, leadership psychology, and practical business growth—and what makes it especially unique is the depth of real-world experience behind it.

Before I ever stepped into a boardroom, I wore combat boots. My leadership journey began in the U.S. Navy, where I learned to operate in high-stakes environments, lead under pressure, and serve something bigger than myself. That foundation is in everything I do today—from coaching executives to building strategic programs that transform teams from the inside out.

Today, we partners with organizations across industries—from law firms to real estate developers to government contractors. What they all have in common is this: they care deeply about their people and know that effective leadership is the key to unlocking next-level performance. Whether we’re leading trust-building workshops, emotional intelligence training, or a full-scale sales breakthrough program, our goal is simple—to create confident, people-first leaders who drive results.

One of the most exciting parts of my work right now is our growing focus on veteran-owned and values-driven companies. Through my involvement with the Houston Regional Veterans Chamber of Commerce (HRVCC), I’ve seen firsthand the power of equipping veterans and mission-focused entrepreneurs with the tools to scale impact without sacrificing their values. It’s not just about growth—it’s about growing the right way.

In 2025, we’re expanding our leadership development offerings, with core training programs in:

Communication

Trust

Sales

Client Journey

We’re also launching an advanced program for companies ready to take their leadership and culture to the next level—Results-Driven Leadership Transformation—a customized experience that blends coaching, consulting, and long-term leadership development.

At the heart of our brand is this belief:

“Two is better than one.”

ResultsXtreme Business Solutions powered by Focal Point of South Texas is led by me and my husband Dennis, a corporate transformation expert with deep roots in operations and delivery. Together, we bring both heart and structure, inspiration and strategy.

So whether I’m coaching a female CEO, facilitating a workshop for a 30-person leadership team, or mentoring a veteran business owner who’s just getting started—I show up with the same mission:
To lead leaders, build belief, and make business personal again.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three most impactful elements in my journey have been:
1. Discipline.
2. Emotional Intelligence.
3. Communication.

1. Discipline – The Foundation of Everything
Discipline is the muscle that got me through boot camp—and it’s the same muscle that helped me grow multiple businesses, hold myself accountable as an entrepreneur, and stay consistent when motivation ran out. My time in the U.S. Navy taught me that discipline isn’t about rigidity; it’s about focus and follow-through.

For those just starting out, don’t wait for the perfect moment or ideal conditions. Build your discipline by doing small hard things every day—wake up when you said you would, make the call, follow the process. Consistency will build your confidence faster than any motivational video ever will.

2. Emotional Intelligence – The Power Skill of Leadership
I used to think leadership was about having the answers. Over time, I learned it’s about understanding people—including yourself. Emotional intelligence—your ability to manage your own emotions, read the room, and respond rather than react—is the secret weapon of every effective leader I’ve ever coached.

In my work with ResultsXtreme Business Solutions powered by Focal Point of South Texas, I teach this constantly. People don’t quit jobs—they quit poor communication, lack of trust, and unresolved tension. If you want to grow your EQ, start by listening more than you speak, reflecting before reacting, and asking better questions. Leadership begins with self-awareness.

3. Communication – Your Currency of Influence
Whether I was briefing a commanding officer, closing a sales deal, or coaching a team through transformation, the ability to communicate with clarity and conviction has been game-changing. Communication is how we build trust, inspire action, and resolve conflict.

For those early in their journey, here’s my advice: Don’t just focus on what you say—pay attention to how it lands. Watch your tone, your body language, your timing. And remember, communication isn’t about being the loudest voice in the room—it’s about being the clearest and most trusted.

Final Thought:
If you’re at the beginning of your journey, don’t underestimate the power of building a strong foundation. Discipline will get you started, emotional intelligence will deepen your impact, and communication will multiply your influence.

You don’t need to be perfect—you just need to be in motion. And if no one has told you yet: You’ve got what it takes.

We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?

I believe you go all in on your strengths—and surround yourself with people who complement the rest.

Let me be clear: I don’t ignore my weaknesses. But I don’t build my business—or my confidence—on them either. I build on what I do exceptionally well. That mindset came straight from my military training, where everyone had a defined role based on their strengths. When you’re operating in high-stakes environments, you don’t have time to be “well-rounded”—you need to be mission-ready. That means knowing what you bring to the table and owning it.

When I transitioned from the military to entrepreneurship, I tried to do it all. Marketing, finance, sales, admin. And I was okay at most of it—but great at none of it. I quickly realized that being a Jack-of-all-trades would never get me to the impact I wanted. So I made the decision to double down on my true strengths: communication, strategic leadership, and coaching transformation.

That shift changed everything. I built ResultsXtreme Business Solutions powered by Focal Point of South Texas around those core capabilities—and brought in support for everything else. My husband Dennis, for example, is brilliant in operations and systems. We’re polar opposites in how we think and process information—but that’s the magic. Together, we don’t have to be well-rounded individuals—we’re a well-rounded team.

In the coaching work I do today, I help leaders discover and activate their zone of genius. And I see it over and over: when people try to “fix” themselves into someone they’re not, they get stuck. But when they lean fully into what they’re built for? They unlock momentum.

Here’s what I tell my clients:
“Your strengths are not just what you’re good at—they’re where you create the most value, the fastest. Own them. Sharpen them. Let them lead.”

So yes, you need awareness of your blind spots. But improvement shouldn’t come at the cost of excellence. Build your life—and your leadership—on the rock-solid ground of your natural gifts. That’s where the real growth happens.
