We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Naomi Rotstein a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Naomi, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I actually had pretty low self esteem and confidence as I was always a chubbier kid. I played sports and was SUPER active but never felt great in my skin. It wasn’t until High school when I started going to the gym with my mom after school – Golds gym…super hardcore and fell in LOVE with the entire experience. As soon as I walked in – it became a place I belonged. I went back everyday. I became friends with the trainers and GF instructors, took classes, learned and began to see my body change. I began to really feel comfortable in my own skin shortly after that. It was the start of me taking an interest in exercise science knowing I wanted to study this and help others. YEARS later, after I was in a pretty toxic relationship – I had already past trauma of not feeling comfrotable in my body and my ex told me I needed to lose weight in order to stay in that relationship. It was then that I signed up for a fitness competition – and completely transformed my body and life. When I stopped competing, I did a lot of work on myself to get validation from within, rather than from the outside

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Hi! I’m Naomi….
After graduating with an Exercise Science degree and ACSM personal training certification, I got my first full time personal training job in 2011.
While training, I started a blog, 1FITFOODIE sharing healthy recipes, workout tips & motivation. Blogging not only became an outlet for my creativity but also connections I’d get home from the gym after training 8-10 clients, exhausted, eat and go to bed only to do this all again everyday…
8 years later, working 60-70 hour weeks with 1:1 personal training sessions, I hit extreme burn out (physically and mentally) trading time for money and the non stop hustle lifestyle.
I left the security of corporate to pursue my dream of having a financial stable online business so I could have more TIME & flexibility.
After hiring my first business mentor in 2019, I successfully grew my online fitness business to 6 figures in 2 years with my signature course, 1FITFUTURE.
I scaled back 1:1 training and FINALLY was able to do what I love in a new way, giving me more time and schedule flexibility while making *more* money Creating an online business quite literally changed my life.
Followers and personal trainers kept asking me how I was doing the ‘online thing’ successfully & naturally began sharing business strategies, resources and tips.
In 2020, I launched my first and signature mentorship, 1FITBIZ, helping fitness professionals create a profitable online course from start to finish and had a 5 figure launch.
Since 2020, I’ve worked with over 100 fitness and nutrition caches to help them start and grow their online businesses so they can create more autonomy, financial stability and impact in their lives WHILE still doing what they love.
I am currently revamping 1FITBIZ, my signature mentorship and it is going to be re-released in the fall/early winter and I cannpt wait to help fit pros grow their online business, streamline their offers and make income without being on the gym floor.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
PATIENCE. You need patience – with everything. Nothing will happen overnight and you need to get really good at being a beginner. Getting in rooms with people FAR ahead and leaving ego at the door – Invest in yourself, ask questions and speak up
Nothing will be handed to you and its not lucky to be successful-You need to work at it everyday – I say ONE micro step everyday will add up, and it is so important to celebrate WINS. Even the small ones – those are the ones that matter that add up
Your success will be different than someone elses and thats okay
Your path to get to where you want to will be will look different than someone elses – your life isn’t their life

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
SLOWING DOWN. Not to be dramatic, but my entire life got better when I stopped creating new sh*t all the time and SLOWED DOWN
Creating was my favorite form of procrastination.
I love it — always have. I could whip up a brand new offer in a day, launch it the next… and I did. Over and over in 2023.
Offer ☑️ Launch ☑️ Repeat.
No time for myself and every waking moment I was creating something new
When it hit me that I was slowly losing joy in the business I built from scratch, and I thought about stopping all together, thats when I KNEW something had to change
The truth? I knew I was avoiding the big, unsexy work:
Building real structure. Creating long-term growth.
But I kept myself “busy” instead.
So I hit pause and re-evaluated everything.
And surprise — the answer was there all along.
I didn’t need new offers.
I needed clarity. Direction.
A brand that was built to scale — not burn me out.
And guess what? This is exactly where most personal trainers are stuck too.
You’ve got 83423 ideas: Freebies, Zoom classes, 1:1, low ticket, high ticket, challenges…
And still no real structure for your time or your income.
Here’s what you actually need: ✔️ One scalable lead-in ✔️ One signature offer ✔️ One premium 1:1 path
That’s it. Sell it. Refine it. Repeat it.
And if you do want to offer more?
It should all stem from your existing offers — same expertise, just packaged differently.
Watch what happens when you stop creating to stay busy and start building to scale.
