Meet Suzanne Igoe

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Suzanne Igoe. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Suzanne below.

Hi Suzanne , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

This is actually a pretty cool story. I was born with Alopecia Areata, which eventually progressed to Alopecia Totalis. I lost all my hair when I was 17, and along with it, I lost my self-esteem.

When I was 19, I was driving home from college and heard on the radio about a bald head contest happening in Charlotte, North Carolina—about an hour and a half from where my parents lived. By the time I got home after my three-hour drive, I walked in the door and announced to my parents that I was going to Charlotte that weekend to enter the contest.

I was determined to take off my wig, which I had come to rely on for security, and stand in front of however many people were there. I needed to do this for my self-esteem. So I went for it. My parents came with me.

I took off my hair in front of probably a couple hundred people—and I won first place. After that experience, my confidence and sense of self-worth completely transformed. It was a total game changer for me, and I’ll always be grateful for it.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I own a holistic med spa where we blend the best of Eastern and Western medical practices to help our clients achieve radiant, healthy skin and overall well-being. Our approach is rooted in treating the skin from the inside out, recognizing that true beauty and health start beneath the surface.

At our spa, we’re certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), Gua Sha, and advanced laser technologies, allowing us to offer a wide range of treatments tailored to each individual’s needs. As a certified holistic practitioner, I also integrate wellness coaching into our services, discussing nutrition, lifestyle, and how internal health impacts the skin.

Our goal is to create personalized plans that not only address external concerns—like aging, pigmentation, and texture—but also support the body’s natural healing and balance. Whether through therapeutic facial treatments, holistic modalities, or medical-grade technologies, we’re dedicated to helping our clients look and feel their best, inside and out.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Have patience and remember that it takes time to build something meaningful.

Be willing to put in the work, even when it’s quiet. That means showing up at your studio, whether or not you have a client booked, and staying ready for the next opportunity that comes through the door.

And never forget where you started. It will shape how you work with your team in the future, helping you to be kind and genuine as you support them on their own journeys.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

The book Profit First by Mike Michalowicz
This book is absolutely priceless to a business owner. It teaches you from the beginning how to save, regardless of how much money you are making. It sets a good work ethic and solid financial future.
