We were lucky to catch up with Caéleb recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Caéleb, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from my parents—but really, my whole family had a strong work ethic. They always taught my siblings and I to do a job right the first time and to always give our absolute best.
I also looked up to artists I admired, like Beyoncé and Brandy, and watched how tirelessly they worked on their craft. Later in life, I learned how to work hard without burning myself out trying to do everything perfectly. Hard work is important—but so is your mental and physical health!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Before I could speak, I sang. I absolutely love to sing—so much so that I would make up my own songs as a kid. I never wrote them down, so I always had to come up with new ones. As I grew up, I realized the value in writing down the lyrics I sang, which jump-started my passion for songwriting.
As a kid, my dad would teach me to harmonize by playing the organ and training me to stay on my own note while he played or sang a different one. I grew up in the church, so blending with other voices and finding/hearing harmonies was nonnegotiable (lol), but it quickly became my favorite thing about singing.
Later, I found out about vocal stacking—being able to sing all the parts myself and choose every note I wanted to add. I would watch videos of artists in the studio layering vocals and break down videos of hidden harmonies in songs.
One day, I came across JAWAN.mp3’s videos on TikTok and fell in love with his smooth, Brandy-esque harmonies. I had to watch all of his videos immediately. Long story short—he followed me back (I fanboyed, obviously) and encouraged me to post my own harmony videos and start making connections with others doing the same thing!
I love singing, writing, and recording music—and one day, it’ll be my full-time career!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I’d definitely say the first skill that helped me on my music journey was simply listening—learning to hear things over and over and notice something new each time. The second thing that impacted my journey was studying my own voice: learning what came naturally to me and what I needed to work on every day. Lastly, I’d say allow yourself to be human and fail at things—but never limit yourself by saying you can’t do something.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes, I am! Obviously, my number one dream collaboration would be with Brandy. But honestly, a lot of the friends I’ve met online and since moving to Philly are the people I’d really love to collaborate with. They’re so talented and each have their own unique styles that I’d love to blend with.
For example: Geo Valentine, Z-Y, Kaylan Mary, Peter Collins, Seraiah Nicole, B3XX, C.V.M, Nana Kissi, Nina Mitchell, and Evan Mayorga—just to name a few, LOL! These artists, along with so many others, have such a fresh sound and a real passion for the music they create. Collaborating with them would be a dream!
