We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Zoe Johnson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Zoe below.
Zoe , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I got my confidence and self-esteem from the way I was raised by my parents and the people who believed in me. My mom always reminded me that I was born to shine, not in a way that made me feel pressured, but in a way that made me feel prepared. From a young age, I was taught that I was not created to fit in and to embrace my uniqueness. Whether it was my voice, my style, or my spirit, I learned to embrace each part of who I am.
I have also built confidence through the work I’ve put in. Every performance, every studio session, every setback and win has all added layers to my belief in myself. I don’t wait for people to approve of me. I show up as the best version of me because I know my worth, and I know I was made to make an impact.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, and model, and everything I do is rooted in my love for storytelling. Whether it’s through a song, a performance, or a character I’m playing, I want people to feel something real. What’s most exciting to me is how music and art can connect people from totally different walks of life and still speak to the heart. That’s what I aim for every time I create.
My brand is all about showing up fully as myself, unapologetically, creatively, and with purpose. I want young people, especially young girls, to see that you don’t have to fit into a box to be powerful.
Right now I am really excited about being a contestant in America’s Next Top Hitmaker contest and am anxious to see the final results. Go vote for me guys!
I am also excited about my upcoming single, ‘Letter To You’ set to drop on August 6th.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I am still early on my journey, but looking back, I would say the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are consistency, confidence, and work ethic.
There were so many moments when I didn’t feel like showing up. Whether it was rehearsals, vocal training, auditions, but I did it anyway. That discipline is what separates dreamers from doers. If you’re just starting out, make a habit of showing up even on the days when you don’t feel 100%. Small, consistent steps lead to big moments.
Confidence came with time, but it started with believing in myself before anyone else did. I had to stop waiting for validation and start trusting my own voice, my own style, and my own purpose. To be honest I am still learning this, but I get better the more I practice. For anyone early in their journey, remind yourself daily why you started. Confidence doesn’t mean you never doubt yourself, it just means you push through despite the doubt.
Work ethic has honestly been a game changer. Talent can get you noticed, but it is the work you put in behind the scenes that keeps you moving forward. I am always learning, growing, and pushing myself to get better. My advice? Stay hungry, stay humble, and never stop improving your craft.
Success doesn’t happen overnight, it is built over time.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was believe in me before anyone else ever did. They saw my light and they protected it, nurtured it, and pushed me to let it shine. They never tried to force me into someone else’s version of success, they supported my vision, even when it was risky or different.
They also taught me that talent will open doors, but character will keep them open. From driving me to rehearsals and auditions, to reminding me who I am when things get tough, they have been my foundation. Knowing that they have my back, no matter what, has given me the confidence to take big leaps and chase my dreams.
