Meet Niteria Fox

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Niteria Fox. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Niteria, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

I developed my confidence and self esteem by pouring into myself. I make myself a priority. Make time for myself. I give myself the love that I give to others. Once I planted the seed of self love and self care I made sure to water it daily. Until it became who I am. Now it’s a part of me and I wear it naturally.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m a beauty professional with a deep passion for natural hair care and protective styles—especially weaves and extensions. My journey began from a place of love for helping others feel confident and empowered through their hair. Over the years, I’ve grown both as a stylist and as an entrepreneur, building a brand that celebrates authenticity, healthy hair practices, and the individuality of every client who sits in my chair.

What excites me the most about my work is the transformation—not just physical, but emotional. Seeing someone leave my chair feeling more beautiful, more confident, and more seen is the most fulfilling part of what I do. My services go beyond hairstyling; I create a safe and uplifting space where clients feel heard and valued.

Right now, I’m focused on expanding my brand and presence in the beauty industry. I’ve been working building educational content to help people take care of their hair between appointments. There are also plans in the works for pop-up styling events and collaborations with other creatives in the beauty and wellness space.

Whether it’s in the salon, online, or out in the community, everything I do is rooted in love for the culture, care for the craft, and a commitment to excellence.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are consistency, a willingness to learn, and authentic connection with clients.
1. Consistency – Showing up, even on the hard days, is what builds trust and momentum. Whether it was perfecting my technique, keeping my branding sharp, or delivering great service every time, staying consistent made a huge difference. For anyone just starting out, I’d say: don’t wait for perfect conditions. Start where you are, keep showing up, and your growth will follow.
2. Willingness to learn – This industry is always evolving. I’ve never been afraid to take a class, learn a new technique, or invest in my skills. Staying teachable is a major key. My advice? Never get too comfortable. The more you learn, the more you grow—and the more value you can bring to your clients.
3. Authentic connection – People remember how you make them feel. I take the time to really listen to my clients and build real relationships. That’s what turns a one-time appointment into a loyal client base. If you’re new in your journey, focus just as much on people as you do on the technical side. Treat everyone with care and respect—it will always take you far.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

When I feel overwhelmed, I’ve learned to pause and breathe. It sounds simple, but taking even a few minutes to step away, quiet my mind, and reconnect with myself makes a huge difference. I used to try to push through everything, but I realized that rest is just as productive as work—especially in a service-based business.

My go-to strategies include journaling, listening to calming music, and stepping outside for fresh air. Sometimes I’ll do a quick mental reset by listing three things I’m grateful for—it helps shift my mindset from stress to clarity. And when needed, I’m not afraid to reschedule or say “not right now.” Boundaries protect my peace and allow me to serve others better.

For anyone navigating overwhelm, I’d say: give yourself permission to slow down. You don’t have to carry everything at once. Prioritize what matters, ask for help when you need it, and remember—you can’t pour from an empty cup.
