Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Deisy with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic comes from my mom, who has been my great role model. She has always demonstrated a strong commitment to her work and has instilled in me the values of hard work, perseverance, and dedication. I have learned from her example and strive to apply those principles to everything I do. Her guidance and support have been instrumental in shaping my approach to work and life, and I am grateful for the lessons she has taught me.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As a licensed Esthetician, Certified Massage Therapist, published author, and expert in wellness and self-care, I am the proud owner of DESUAR Spa, which has grown to provide outstanding treatments with proven results. With over 20 years of experience in the beauty and wellness industry, I offer a range of services, including facials, massage, clinical skincare, and body procedures. Recently, I graduated from the University of California Irvine Continuing Education Division, majoring in Spa and Hospitality Management, and obtained certifications in advanced skincare services and technology from Cidesco. My future plans include national expansion and the launch of new products.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three most impactful qualities/skills in any journey are resilience, adaptability, and effective communication. Early in your journey, embrace challenges, seek mentors, and focus on continuous learning. Build a strong network, celebrate progress, and believe in yourself.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
I am currently facing challenges with inflation and a shortage of staff. To address these, I am implementing strategies to manage costs effectively and actively seeking new talent to fill the staff gaps.
