We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ana Maria Cattani a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ana Maria , so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
I’ll be honest, this is something I still struggle with. Especially in a time when wellness has become so popular and the space is filled with influencers, it’s easy to feel like you’re not doing enough or that you don’t belong. But what has helped me the most is going back to the real stories and real women I’ve worked with. Every time a client shares how a small shift we made together helped her feel more energized, more confident, or simply more in tune with her body—that’s when I remember why I do what I do.
It’s not about competing with others. It’s about showing up for the women who need support, guidance, and real conversations—especially in midlife, when so much is changing. So while the doubt still creeps in from time to time, I’ve learned to pause, reflect on the impact I’ve made, and keep going—because this work matters.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As a Nutritional Health Coach specializing in Hormone Health, I support women over 40, especially those navigating perimenopause and menopause, in reconnecting with their bodies, regaining their confidence, and feeling empowered through this transformational stage of life.
What feels most special to me is witnessing the shift that happens when a woman realizes that she doesn’t have to settle for feeling tired, bloated, or out of balance. With the right guidance, tools, and support, she can thrive, not just survive, through midlife.
One of the most exciting projects I’m currently working on is my new program, Thriving Through Menopause. It’s a 6-week journey designed to help women understand what’s really going on in their bodies, learn how to support their hormones through nutrition and lifestyle, and feel stronger and more vibrant than ever. My approach is personal, compassionate, and science-based—because I’m walking this path too, and I know how overwhelming it can be. My mission is to make women feel seen, heard, and supported every step of the way.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been empathy, curiosity, and resilience.
Empathy has been essential in connecting with the women I work with. Truly listening, without judgment, creates a safe space for healing and transformation. It’s something that can’t be faked, and the more we practice holding space for others, the stronger it becomes.
Curiosity has kept me learning. Wellness is a constantly evolving field, especially when it comes to women’s health and hormones. Staying curious—asking questions, reading, researching, and staying open—has helped me grow as both a coach and a woman.
Resilience has carried me through the doubts, the slow seasons, and the moments of impostor syndrome. Building a business rooted in service takes time, and resilience helps you keep showing up, even when it’s hard.
My advice for anyone just starting out: don’t wait to feel “ready.” Start where you are, keep learning, and lean into your why. The more aligned you are with the people you want to serve, the more meaningful and fulfilling your work will feel.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was always being there. Through both the good and the challenging moments, they showed up with unconditional support and love. I’ve always felt their encouragement in every decision I’ve made, from life transitions to career shifts, and that gave me the confidence to believe in myself.
They also taught me the value of hard work and responsibility, not just through words, but by example. Watching them navigate life with dedication and integrity shaped the way I show up in my own life and work. Their support, combined with those lessons, has truly been the foundation of who I am today.
