We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Vasudha. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Vasudha below.
Vasudha, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
My confidence and self-esteem didn’t come overnight—it has been a journey filled with learning, challenges, and growth. When I started Shreeta Salon & Spa, I didn’t have a business background. I come from a working-class family, and I built everything from scratch in a new country with new responsibilities.
What gave me the courage to move forward was my deep passion for helping people through natural and herbal beauty care—something I learned from my parents and carried in my heart since childhood. Each client who trusted me, appreciated my work, and returned with kind words became a source of strength.
Over time, their love and support gave me the confidence to believe in myself more. My clients are not just customers—they are part of my journey. Their faith in my work motivates me every day and keeps me going, even when things feel tough.
I’ve learned that self-esteem doesn’t mean being perfect—it means showing up, staying honest, learning as you go, and never giving up on your purpose.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I run Shreeta Salon & Spa, a cozy herbal wellness space in Stevensville, Michigan, that’s dedicated to natural beauty and chemical-free care. What started as a small dream fueled by my love for herbs and healing has now grown into a place where people come not just for services—but for peace, trust, and personalized attention.
Our focus is on reviving ancient herbal wisdom in a modern setting. From facials to hair spa and natural hair coloring with henna and indigo, every treatment we offer is done with love, patience, and a deep respect for the skin and hair’s natural rhythm. What makes our salon special is the genuine care we put into every service. I believe in one-on-one attention, listening deeply, and offering a calm, welcoming space—especially for those who have been disappointed by harsh chemicals or rushed treatments elsewhere.
We’re especially excited right now because we’re about to celebrate a very special milestone—our first anniversary on August 7, which also happens to be my birthday! It’s a double celebration, and a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come with the support of our wonderful community.
Professionally, I’m focused on growing this mission even further. We’re working on new events, local collaborations, and more ways to educate people about the power of natural care. Whether someone visits for a facial, hair spa, or just a haircut, they leave feeling seen, cared for, and naturally beautiful.
At the heart of it, Shreeta Salon & Spa isn’t just a business—it’s a journey of healing, empowerment, and connection.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I believe these three qualities have played the biggest role in my journey:
1. Patience – Building something from scratch takes time, especially when you’re trying to introduce something different like herbal, chemical-free beauty care. There were times things were slow and uncertain, but patience helped me stay steady and keep going, even when things moved slowly.
Advice: Don’t rush the process. Growth doesn’t happen overnight. Trust your efforts and keep showing up.
2. Willingness to Learn – I didn’t come from a business background. I had to learn everything—from how to talk to clients to how to manage bookings and market my services. I’m still learning every day.
Advice: Stay open and curious. Ask questions, watch others, take small courses—even mistakes can teach you something valuable.
3. Belief in My Purpose – I truly believe in what I do and why I do it. That belief helps me stay confident, even when challenges come. Knowing that I’m helping people with safe, natural care gives me strength.
Advice: Find your “why” and hold onto it. When you believe in your mission, people around you will start to believe in it too.
And most importantly, I’d say to those just starting: surround yourself with supportive people, whether it’s family, friends, or kind clients. Their love and encouragement have been my biggest strength.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes, I’m definitely open to collaborations and would love to connect with people who believe in natural wellness and holistic beauty just like I do.
I’m especially interested in working with:
Ayurveda or herbal product makers who align with our chemical-free mission
Wellness professionals such as yoga instructors, nutritionists, or herbalists who focus on healing from the inside out
Local artists, photographers, or storytellers who want to promote self-care, clean beauty, and community wellness
And those in marketing or small business support who are passionate about helping local, purpose-driven businesses grow
