Meet Brittney Dayne

We were lucky to catch up with Brittney Dayne recently and have shared our conversation below.

Brittney, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

Whew, story of my life! I’ve been the “only one” for as long as I can remember. I was the smart Black girl in predominantly white schools, and the little Black girl in ballet class; classically trained but never chosen for certain roles because the choreographer wanted everyone to “look alike.” From the trauma of that little Black girl being overlooked to the pride and joy of becoming the first and only Black doctor bikini Olympian in the IFBB Pro League, my journey has taught me how to carry both pain and power in the same breath.

I’ve gotten very familiar with being the “only one.” But instead of shrinking, I’ve learned to see it as a divine assignment. If God trusted me to walk into that room, then I know I’m equipped to own that space with grace, purpose, and excellence.

Presence is power. People may not understand you at first, but authenticity commands attention. The key is to walk in with boldness, stay grounded in faith, and remember that just because you’re the only one, doesn’t mean you’re alone.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’ve lived many chapters, but at the heart of it all, I’m a storyteller. Whether it’s through skincare, film, or my new role as a mother, I’m focused on helping women heal, feel seen, and stand in their truth.

I’m a pharmacist by education, which means science and wellness are part of my DNA. But I’ve always been just as passionate about the soul. So, I founded The RYT Skincare to bridge that gap. RYT stands for “Reveal Your Truth,” because I believe our skin tells the story of what we carry, and true wellness comes from the inside out. Every product is rooted in self-love, clean ingredients, and the freedom to feel good in your own skin.

After years of struggling with infertility, pregnancy loss, and the silence that often surrounds it, I birthed more than just my daughter. I birthed a mission. I created Mama Reveals Truth as a safe, raw, and often humorous space for mothers to tell the truth about what it means to carry, birth, and raise a life. To expand this mission, I executive produced a short film that explores the emotional impact of infertility within a marriage, specifically through the lens of IVF. Loosely inspired by my own journey, it offers an intimate glimpse into what couples silently endure behind closed doors. The film is currently in post-production and serves as a powerful step toward breaking the stigma around fertility struggles.

I’m also writing my first children’s book, inspired by my daughter Briella and the six year fertility battle that led me to her. It’s a love letter to families who waited, prayed, and maybe even broke down a few times along the way.

Whether it’s a facial serum, a story, or a safe space online, everything I create is rooted in helping others heal and feel empowered in their truth. I’ve found power in sharing the parts of my journey I once tried to hide. That’s the heart of my work now: making truth feel like freedom.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three qualities that had the biggest impact on my journey were resilience, discernment, and authenticity.

Resilience kept me going when things didn’t go as planned, which was often. Whether it was rejection in the entertainment world, failed IVF cycles, or feeling overlooked in rooms I worked hard to be in, resilience helped me press on without becoming hardened.

Discernment taught me what to say yes to, what to release, and who I needed to become in order to grow. It’s the quiet, internal wisdom that helps you stay aligned with your purpose even when opportunities try to pull you off course.

And my whole brand is built on authenticity. The more I leaned into who I really am, the more things started to flow. I spent years trying to “perform” different roles; the good girl, strong Black woman, perfect wife, overachiever. Then I finally realized my greatest power was just telling the truth.

My advice to others is stay rooted in who you are, even when the world tries to shape you into something else. Your resilience, discernment, and truth will lead you exactly where you’re meant to be.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yes, I’m definitely open to partnerships and collaborations. I’m currently expanding Mama Reveals Truth into a full brand platform, so I’m looking to connect with fellow creators, wellness experts, maternal health advocates, authors, and brands who value authenticity, humor, and healing through truth.

Also, as I’m preparing to publish my debut children’s book, I’d love to connect with publishers, illustrators, and partners who believe in stories that speak to the heart of miracle babies and the parents who prayed for them.
