Claudia , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
Shoutout to my mother & my father! God really did His big one when he blessed me with my parents & even grandparents.
I come from a hard working, loyal, dedicated, dedicated family. My mother is a hustler. Plain & simple. She has a heart for the community. She’s done some amazing work out here. She’s very committed to her work. Never backs down. Finds a solution to anything that may try to stand in her way! She’s not one to play with.
My father is extremely wise. He’s patient so he’s a great decision maker. He has worked his way to being an entrepreneur. My dad is one of those bosses that is still the employee! He puts in the same amount of work. He treats everyone the same no matter the title! He is a true leader.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am the proud owner of The Beauty Lounge located downtown San Antonio!
My focus is giving our clients an experience & sisterhood they won’t find anywhere else! We are so dedicated to making sure everyone feels welcomed & appreciated.
Our salon provides resources to the community every year. We have provided Christmas gifts to the women in our community who are less fortunate all the way to providing jackets, shoes, and blankets to our downtown community who are in need.
We make it a point to show love!! We focus on women of all hair types from all backgrounds. We have a love for women who may be suffering from hair loss. To see the looks on their faces when we provide them with a style that brings security is priceless!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I feel customer service, being extremely knowledgeable about what I do, and consistency have been three factors that make the most impact of my journey.
Our guests want to feel that they matter & are not just a number. Treat your people well and they will do the same!
I believe in staying up on trends & new products keep you in line with what the guests are wanting & needing. I watch fashion shows, take classes, read magazines. All the things that show me what’s what these days!
Consistency is what separates most! Doing what you need to be doing even when you don’t feel like it. Even when you don’t see results. Remain in the field.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m actually interested in collaborating more than ever right now! I would love to partner or work with people who intentional about their work! The folks that are really in the field, making a difference in the community they serve! Whether it be beauty brands, community outreach groups, fitness brands, whatever, I love people of productivity! They can find me on social media or at the salon!
