Meet Key Vhani

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Key Vhani. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Key, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from experiencing real life trials and tribulations, but I never gave in to those dark feelings when things went bad in life. It’s like going to the gym and exercising. The more you workout the stronger you become. The same applies to life. You learn how to navigate through life and through those tough feelings that are hard to feel. That’s how you become resilient. You learn to exercise your happiness and eventually, happiness becomes your standard. You can’t even imagine feeling any other way.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m a musician, artist, business woman, and college student. My music, and both of my businesses, Pretty Thug Music LLC and Audiverse LLC, are my biggest projects I’m currently building. I say building and not “working on” because building is elevation, and I’m constantly elevating. There’s no point in working on something if there’s no elevation. It’s exciting and fulfilling to bring an idea in your mind to life, to a tangible existence.

Both of my businesses started as just an idea in my mind’s eye. And sometimes, it seems like our ideas are unattainable. Like they’re so much bigger than us, but I’m so glad I took that first step towards my ideas, goals, and dreams. It’s so powerful to see your idea come to life and operate itself exactly as you imagined it would.

Currently, my second business Audiverse LLC is still a work in progress. Eventually, it’ll be a powerhouse streaming service for fans and music lovers all over to support rising, emerging, and established artists. Audiverse is currently available on PrettyThugMusic.com, but soon it will have a website and home of its own for it to fly higher than ever!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Unfaultering determination, being smart enough to learn more about my industry, taking college courses instead of learning as I go, and creativity.

If you don’t come from money the journey is so much harder. The only way to reach success is by having unfaultering determination. The will, heart, and power to keep going no matter what. The determination to get to where you always wanted to be, to create the life you’ve always wanted for yourself no matter what stands in your way.

But with that unfaultering determination you also need to be smart enough to learn about your industry and not be so arrogant to think you know everything. Being too arrogant to learn is the number one reason people fail and why they get taken advantage of. Not having the patience to learn will only cause things to crumble because without knowledge there’s no way you can do anything right in life. Without knowledge you’ll always be wrong. The amount of people who jump into things without learning about it is so crazy to me, and I think that’s why 90% of businesses fail in their first year. Be smart enough to learn. Knowledge is power.

Now that you have the unfaultering determination and knowledge, you need creativity to really push everything through. No matter what industry you’re in, you need creativity, you need innovation. The world is constantly changing, constantly growing. We need leaders and trailblazers who are creative enough to move the world forward. Creativity makes you stand out from your competition, and makes your supporters love you and follow you. Let’s be real, the world needs leaders. And the only people who are fit to be leaders are the ones who are creative enough to think outside the box, creative enough to think twenty steps ahead, and creative enough to think about things that benefit the world and not just themselves. Everything in this world started as just another creative idea.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

I’m a big reader so many books have had major impacts on me. But if I had to choose one, it would be “The Game of Life and How to Play It” by Florence Scovel Shinn. I’m not going to give away its secrets or gems of wisdom, you’ll have to read it for yourself haha.
