Meet Claire Louise Huder

We were lucky to catch up with Claire Louise Huder recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Claire Louise, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I found my purpose through living and making mistakes. Essentially, I thought that I had a distinct idea about what I wanted to do in life and, while I am certainly doing something related to the arts like I always envisioned, I found myself finding my specific calling in regards to communicating through artistic expression—particularly fighting for mental & emotional health and telling important such stories—through the experiences I have accumulated thus far in my life. Experiencing things can be the best teacher, and despite some of the pain and suffering that has accompanied some of those life lessons, they have helped guide me to my purpose.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am a naturally red-haired American petite model, film & commercial actor, writer, and artist originally from Petoskey, Michigan, and based in Florida. I have a passion for creative expression and mental & emotional health awareness, and highlight such important issues in my projects, from acting on screen to writing behind the scenes. My first short film project “Perception,” where I predominantly acted across myself, aimed to bring awareness to a variety of issues (such as self-harm, identity and growth, relationship manipulation and mental abuse), won me my first Best Actor award and started off my projects with a “Bang!” by winning the PressPlay Cinema Illuminate Film Festival (2024). Now, while my production company Cinder Pictures LLC’s second short film “Video Call,” highlighting domestic and relationship abuse, is out at festivals and the third titled “Knock, Knock,” (loosely based off of an Edgar Allen Poe tale) creatively highlighting the dangers of obsession, is in production, I am writing and editing my first major project: a book series—the debut titled ‘Dissonance’—and accompanying film trilogy that aims to provide an insight into empathy and its connection to humanity. Outside of my own projects, I look forward to continuing to work with other talented and inspired humans in telling impactful stories and sharing lives! ‘Simple Acts of Kindness,’ filmed in Jacksonville, FL, is one such independent project where I step into the life of a young divorcé with a terminal illness who takes in a young homeless woman, which tells a relatable and heartfelt tale of kindness, resilience, and empathy in the time of the Covid-19 pandemic (and is currently available on Amazon Prime). Another powerful project titled ‘The Truth About Monsters’ is also in post-production with a tentative goal to release in 2026, and shines a light on a hidden domestic reality of human/sex trafficking. All of my projects can be kept up with through my website www.clairelouisehuder.com. Where there are important stories to tell in a constantly-evolving creative medium, you will find me!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Empathy, resilience, and trust. Empathy is an extremely powerful quality, albeit a double-edged sword due to such an effect, and I have found myself reminded of the beauty in our world through the innumerable acts of empathy performed within it. Resilience is important, especially as an actor when all you seem to hear is “No,” or nothing at all, but also in everyday life; showing resilience in situations both big and small has helped me push through challenging times. Trust is essential for all relationships, including a relationship with yourself; when I have found myself doubting my purpose, I turn to the trust that others place in me and I have placed in myself that, no matter if I stumble fall off of the path, I will get back up and onto it. All three of these qualities are certainly interlinked, and I advise anyone struggling with any of them to prioritize their mental health, and to take a step back and listen to yourself—not to the anxiety or the stress, but to your inner voice that set you on your path in the first place. If you find yourself overwhelmed, don’t be afraid to reach out to your support system for guidance and, you guessed it, support. Then, when you are ready, take a deep breath, pat yourself on the back or give yourself a hug, and then step back onto that path. Just like any other muscle or skill, qualities like these can be developed and improved through repeated, proper utilization and practice.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I am certainly looking for valuable partners and collaborators with a like vision of valuing mental & emotional health, highlighting lives & life and bringing awareness to important issues in our society through creative means, especially when it comes to developing ‘Dissonance’ alongside its accompanying books and projects. The film itself is independent and, while I am based in the Southeast United States, I welcome amateurs to professionals from all over the United States (and beyond!) that are passionate about creative storytelling. I am also always looking for the next role or project, and feel myself drawn towards historical and fantastical projects as I have been consistently told that I possess an “ethereal quality” perfect for such and have a sharp, adaptable tongue for accents. (Did I mention that I have a valid passport?) All past, present, and future projects are featured on my website (www.clairelouisehuder.com) and, should someone be seeking a particular red-haired role, powerful heroine or resilient survivor, wickedly damaged villainess, or even a tragic victim in their next story, there is a form on the homepage to connect with me personally in regards to developing such a professional relationship.
