An Inspired Chat with rob spampinato of suffern

We’re looking forward to introducing you to rob spampinato. Check out our conversation below.

rob, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A typical day for me is built around balance and structure. I start my morning by taking my supplements and heading to the gym, setting the tone with some heavy weights and focus. Once I’m back, I prep my meals for the day so I can stay fueled and on track. By around 11 AM I arrive at the school, where I dive into emails and phone calls to make sure everything is running smoothly. From there, I shift into marketing mode, planning and shooting videos for social media to keep our message strong and consistent. As the day winds down, I step fully into my role as a musician and teacher, working directly with students in the evenings or heading out to play gigs, closing the day doing what I love most: making music.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Rob Spampinato, a lifelong musician, educator, and entrepreneur. I founded Rob’s School of Music, where I’ve taught over 65,000 lessons and built a program designed to inspire confidence, discipline, and creativity in every student. As a professional guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and performer, I’ve toured nationally, collaborated with Grammy Award-winning artists, and grown my YouTube channel to over 167k subscribers. I’m also the author of the Amazon best-seller This Book Shreds. Above all, I’m passionate about using music as a tool to transform lives, whether through private lessons, corporate team-building programs, or live performances.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
Growing up, I learned more about work and perseverance from my parents than from anyone else. My mother battled a debilitating neurological illness, yet she showed up to a job she hated every single day, teaching me what true grit and responsibility look like. My father woke up at 5:30 every morning, drove two hours to work, and often didn’t get home until seven or eight at night, but no matter how exhausted he was, he always made time to be at my gigs and karate classes. Their sacrifices and unwavering commitment instilled in me a relentless work ethic and the understanding that showing up, no matter how hard, is the foundation of success.

What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
From 2008 to 2010, I owned a restaurant with my family, a childhood dream that, for a time, was a great success. But when the economy crashed, I was too young and naïve to recognize the warning signs. We eventually had to sell the business, and it was devastating because I had built my whole identity around that restaurant. I even put my music career on hold to dedicate myself fully to it. That failure, though painful, became one of my greatest teachers. It taught me to never take my foot off the gas, to always keep my eyes and ears open to market changes, and to think five steps ahead so I’m ready for whatever comes next

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Although I’m naturally a shy person, I’ve learned to embrace sharing an amplified version of myself with the world. The public version of me, the one people see through Rob’s School of Music, on stage, or online, isn’t a character I put on, but a genuine extension of who I am. It’s simply a louder, more confident expression of my personality. At the end of the day, there’s no separation, Rob from Rob’s School of Music is Rob Spampinato, and Rob Spampinato is Rob from Rob’s School of Music.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel the deepest sense of peace when I’m with my family, when I’m with my wife and our children, everything else fades into the background. No matter how busy life gets, or how many responsibilities pull me in different directions, being with them grounds me in what truly matters. Their love, laughter, and presence give me a calm that nothing else can, a reminder that all of the hard work and hustle are ultimately for these moments together.
