Demetria “MzMetchi”, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I’ve had a few moments recently that really made me proud. Two years ago, I filmed the pilot episode for The MzMetchi Show, my new daytime talk show. I’m working toward getting it picked up by a major network or streaming platform. Life got hectic after filming, and I almost stopped—but at the top of 2024, I made the decision to finish what I started. This summer, I launched the season, and I couldn’t be more proud.

I also curated The Linked and Lit Brunch this spring on the Magnificent Mile in downtown Chicago. It was all about bringing together entrepreneurs, creatives, and professionals in a vibrant space. We had networking, vendors, food, music—the whole vibe.

Honestly, I’m still beaming with pride about it all.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m MzMetchi, the CEO of The Blueprint Media Company, a platform dedicated to highlighting entrepreneurs, small businesses, artists, and community changemakers. For more than six years, I have hosted The Blueprint Live, building a loyal audience through impactful conversations and storytelling. Most recently, I premiered The MzMetchi Show, delivering fresh and engaging content to viewers.

As an event curator and professional brand ambassador for brands like Copajn Vodka, I’ve produced high-energy networking experiences like The Linked & Lit Brunch and partnered with top brands to create spaces for connection and growth. With a strong background in commercial property management, I bring strategy, organization, and attention to detail into everything I do, ensuring each project is executed with excellence.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a really shy girl who kept a lot to myself. I was smart, I had plenty to say, but I rarely used my voice. I felt like I was supposed to be quiet, to not take up space, to just blend in. Deep down, though, I always knew there was more in me, I just hadn’t learned yet how to let it out.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There was definitely a moment when I almost gave up. It was during the time I was working so hard to shop “The MzMetchi Show” and get the word out, but everything felt like an uphill battle. At the same time, I was diagnosed with stage four endometriosis, navigating infertility, and facing so many personal challenges all at once. That season truly tested me, and if there was ever a time I was ready to walk away, that was it. But pushing through that storm showed me just how much this show and my purpose really meant to me.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is the real me. What people see is me showing up polished and professional, but at the core it’s really about my heart for people. I truly care about helping others, supporting them, and being present for those around me. Who I am in public is exactly who I am when the cameras are off and no one is watching.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, I could give everything my best even if no one praised me for it. I know that I’m walking in the purpose God placed on my life and that’s what drives me. This destiny came from Him, so even if man never gave me recognition, I know I will always receive strength, glory, and uplifting from God.
