Meet Tiffany Elle Burgess

We were lucky to catch up with Tiffany Elle Burgess recently and have shared our conversation below.

Tiffany Elle, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from my faith in God, my family, and my friends. Life can be tough at times. You will have to deal with disappointment and rejection (among other things). When these things happen, I turn to my faith and my loved ones who continuously pour into me and lift me up when needed.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am an actress, writer, and producer. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Hampton University and Master of Public Health degree for Emory University, Rollins School of Public Health. In August 2016 I released my first children’s book, Skin Like Mine, which was featured in the February 2017 issue of Essence Magazine, among other publications. In 2019 I released my second children’s book, The Adventures of Junior and Baby Brother: Spencer’s Special Gift. This past January I released my third children’s book entitled, Decisions, Decisions, in conjunction with actor, Stanley Aughtry, Jr.

I am one-third of the film
production team, Tyler Street Films. My partners are Jack Manning, III and Lawrence “LAW” Watford.

As an actress, I have appeared on television and in short films and web series. This winter, I will make my big screen debut in the film adaptation of the musical, The Color Purple, in the role of Olivia, Celie’s daughter.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think the 3 qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are: Determination, Focus, and Resilience.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I love to collaborate with like-minded people. I love working with people who are just as hungry and determined to succeed as I am. I believe in networking across and building with others who are also striving to make it to the top.
