We’re looking forward to introducing you to Rose Ryan. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Rose, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day might be at the top of my favorites list. I wake up at 4am, get dressed, grab one of my pups, usually Mookie, and meet my running crew (who are like sisters to me) for an early run and or walk depending on the day! I then go directly into clients and or classes!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Rose and I am the Owner of Garage Girl Fitness, a full-service fitness and nutrition studio. I live about 10 miles north of Boston and have 2 amazing children and a great hubby. My clients range in age from 14 to 70 plus, however, the majority of my clients are 35-70. I am grateful to be in a profession I love. I was a full-time private detective for many years, but the wellness industry won me over. I currently split my time with personal training clients, nutrition clients and classes.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My parents always, always, always told me how strong, intelligent, and beautiful I was. Of course, we don’t ever believe what our parents say, especially as young children or teens, but it stuck with me. They made me believe I could do anything I set my mind to.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
YES! I owned a studio I loved before opening Garage Girl Fitness, and we had to close it. It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do in my life. I worked really hard at trying to keep it open, and when we had to close, I was heartbroken. It crushed me. But, thankfully, I had the help of my husband and opened Garage Girl Fitness immediately. Not every day has been perfect. It has taken years, but my clients are ROCK STARS! I am so grateful.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I believe and hope my closest friends would say I am loyal. I cherish my friendships, but I also cherish my clients. I believe they would say I give all of myself to help others reach their goals so THEY can feel their best.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
The LAUGHS at the Garage and the companionship. Negativity isn’t an option for us. We have the BEST time every time we have a class, session, etc.
