Marijana, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
My normal day starts early, often with coffee in one hand and my phone in the other, checking messages from clients and confirming event details. I usually spend the morning coordinating with vendors, ordering flowers, and making sure decorations are on schedule. In between, I’m answering calls, sending quick updates, and working on new event ideas. Afternoons are for site visits, setting up spaces, or meeting clients to discuss their vision. There’s always a little creative chaos—choosing colors, arranging flowers, or finding that one perfect detail to make an event special. Even in the evenings, I’m often wrapping up last-minute tasks or thinking ahead to the next big celebration.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Marijana Kurcubic, the founder of M Events, a luxury event planning, décor company and catering service.
I specialize in creating unforgettable celebrations—whether it’s a wedding, private party, or corporate event—by blending elegance, creativity, and personalized details. What makes my work unique is the way I bring each client’s vision to life with custom décor, stunning floral designs, and experiences that feel magical from start to finish. My journey started with a passion for design and a love for bringing people together, and today I’m proud to transform spaces into beautiful, memorable moments. Right now, I’m working on fresh concepts and one-of-a-kind setups that will make upcoming events truly stand out.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
The person who saw me clearly before I could see myself was my family—especially my family.They believed in my creativity, determination, and potential long before I fully understood it. They encouraged me to dream bigger, to trust my instincts, and to believe that I could turn my passion into a business. That early belief gave me the courage to take risks and create the life I have today.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?

No—giving up was never something I seriously considered. Of course, there have been challenges, long nights, and moments where things didn’t go as planned, but my passion for what I do has always been stronger than the obstacles. I love creating beautiful, memorable experiences for people, and that joy keeps me motivated no matter how hard it gets. For me, every challenge is just a chance to learn, grow, and prove to myself that I can do even better next time.

I’m committed to building M Events into a brand that’s known for creating unforgettable, one-of-a-kind celebrations. My belief is that every event should feel personal, unique, and full of heart—no matter how big or small. I’m dedicated to growing this vision, refining my craft, and expanding my reach, even if it takes years. For me, it’s not just about the events—it’s about creating moments people will remember for a lifetime.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m surrounded by beautiful details, everything is in place, and I can step back during an event to watch people enjoying the atmosphere I’ve created. In that moment, all the planning, late nights, and hard work come together, and I can just breathe and feel proud of what I’ve built.
