INGRID, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. When have you felt most loved—and did you believe you deserved it?
I have always felt loved by my partner in life, my husband. We are celebrating 28 years of marriage on August 14th. We have been through so many things that life has thrown at us and we have managed to carve out a wonderful life.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, my name is Ingrid Kindred, and I am the owner of Spa Treasures, a beauty brand that creates skincare for acne prone, maturing, and dry skin. Spa Treasures was started in 2009 to create an additional income for my family as well as to provide skincare that was natural and had simple but powerful ingredients.

Our brand isn’t just “another skincare line,” and that’s what makes it stand out. We create products that target dry, maturing, and acne-prone/problematic skin — a group that’s often overlooked in mainstream beauty. Small batch, high-quality ingredients, and formulas made with actual skin benefits in mind — not just “what’s trending this week.”

We’re currently in the studio creating our very own facial moisturizer — the final piece to complete our facial care lineup. Once it drops later this year, our core collection will have everything you need for a full, glow-getting facial regimen from start to finish.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My mom has always been a huge influence on how I see myself. Growing up, she encouraged me to go after what I wanted without fear of stumbling or failing. She taught me that failure is inevitable, but it’s also one of life’s greatest teachers.

When I decided to start my business in 2009, I called her to share my dream of creating a skincare brand. She was all in from the start — even giving me the money to place my very first order for supplies.

She’s always seen more in me than I’ve seen in myself and has pushed me to step outside my comfort zone time and time again.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
The defining wound in my life came in 2010, when I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. It was one of the hardest chapters I’ve ever faced. After nearly two years of treatment and two surgeries, I finally heard the words I had been fighting for — cancer-free.

But beating cancer was only part of the journey. It took me a long time to stop living in fear of it returning and to finally embrace the life I had fought so fiercely to keep.

Cancer taught me that life is fragile, precious, and worth living boldly. Start that business. Take that trip to Rome. Love with your whole heart. And let go of the things you can’t control.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
What you see is what you get with me. I am a very opinionated, laid back and loving person. I never sugar coat who I am because I love this version of me. I am not a complicated person and it always amazes me that people reach out to me for guidance, inspiration and ideas (business and personal).

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m with my husband. He’s my biggest supporter — the calm in my storms, the steady ground when life feels unsteady. Through every wave of anxiety and all the chaos that comes with being an entrepreneur, he loves me, grounds me, and reminds me to breathe.
