Story & Lesson Highlights with Stille Skygger

We recently had the chance to connect with Stille Skygger and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Stille, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
I think many people are silently struggling with the weight of having to find their own way in a world that never showed them one. Nobody told us which direction to take. Nobody handed us a map, or even a compass. We’re just expected to walk—blindly, bravely—and somehow not fall.

At the same time, we’re carrying life itself in our other hand.
The pressure. The heartbreak. The expectations.
Two weights, one soul.

We pretend it’s easy. We smile. We scroll.
But inside, we’re exhausted from trying to figure everything out while keeping everything else from falling apart.
That balance—finding your path while carrying your life—it’s not just hard.
It’s quietly, brutally, human.

And most of us never say it out loud.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m an artist, storyteller, and founder of an independent Marvelous Art Group.

I come from a background where access to the art world felt distant, almost impossible. But I’ve always believed that art is not a luxury—it’s a language, especially for those of us who weren’t always handed a voice. I started drawing at 9 years old, and since then, art has been my way of surviving, dreaming, and building bridges.

Today, through my platform, we support and amplify artists from underrepresented backgrounds, publishing their work in digital magazines, curating exhibitions, and helping their stories reach the world. What makes this journey special isn’t just the art—it’s the people behind it. The ones creating in silence, hoping someone sees them. We see them.

Right now, I’m focused on expanding our reach—new places, new voices, new collaborations. My goal is to keep opening doors that weren’t open for me, and to remind others that even if the world doesn’t offer you a path, you can still build your own—and bring others with you.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that has served its purpose is the “survivor”—the version of myself who learned to endure, to make do, to carry dreams quietly in a world that didn’t allow them to grow.

I come from a place where even the act of dreaming felt like rebellion—something too grand, too far. But that little girl, the one who dared to dream anyway, taught me everything I needed to know about resilience. Without her, I wouldn’t have made it this far. I wouldn’t have learned the patience, the quiet discipline, the tenderness to build something from nothing.

But now, I no longer need to survive. I’m learning to live, to expand, to create without fear. It’s time to let the survivor rest and let the visionary take the lead.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Be bold, even when the world tries to make you small. Be fearless, even when your voice shakes. You don’t need permission to exist loudly or take up space. They’ll call you too much, too intense, too different—but that’s only because they’re afraid of what you might become if you stop shrinking. You weren’t born to fit in; you were born to break patterns and build something new. So stop waiting for approval. Take the space, take the risk, and never apologize for who you are.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to building a platform where unheard, unseen artists—especially those from marginalized or overlooked backgrounds—can finally be recognized, supported, and celebrated. I believe that art should not be limited to privilege or access. No matter how long it takes, I will keep creating space for those voices that the mainstream often ignores. I want to show the world that raw, honest creativity exists everywhere, even in the quietest corners, and that it deserves to be seen. This isn’t just a project—it’s a lifelong mission to turn silence into visibility, and survival into expression.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I was someone who didn’t wait for doors to open—I built my own, and left them wide open behind me. That I took every bit of struggle, every silent moment of doubt, and turned it into something meaningful—not just for myself, but for others who needed to see someone like them make it through. I hope they say I made people feel seen. That I believed in unheard voices and gave them space to speak, to shine, to belong. And most of all, I hope they remember that I didn’t just dream for myself—I dreamed for all of us.
