Inklyne shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Inklyne, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of work, what’s been bringing me the most joy lately is a mix of music, trading, and faith. I find peace in watching gospel content—it uplifts my spirit and keeps me grounded. Trading is something I’m passionate about, so even when I’m not working, I enjoy studying the markets and fine-tuning my strategies. And music has always been my escape—whether it’s gospel, soulful instrumentals, or something that just clears my mind, it helps me reset and stay focused. That balance between passion, purpose, and peace is what keeps me going.”
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is [Joel Davis], and I’m a musician and Forex trader driven by purpose, creativity, and strategy. I’m the founder of Inklyne, a brand that blends financial empowerment with artistic expression. Through music, I aim to inspire and uplift, and through trading, I help others see the power of discipline, focus, and vision. What makes my journey unique is how I’ve combined two very different worlds—art and finance—into a lifestyle that’s both impactful and authentic. Right now, I’m working on growing my platform, reaching more people with my music, and developing tools that make trading more accessible for others.”
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world tried to define me, I was always that guy—the one who felt music in his bones and saw the world a little differently. Music runs deep in my family, so it’s always been part of who I am, not just something I do. I didn’t have to ‘become’ a musician—it’s who I’ve always been. And even before I found trading, I had that same hunger to create, express, and move with purpose. No matter what the world said, I’ve always stayed rooted in that.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me patience, humility, and trust—things success alone could never teach. It showed me how to stand still when everything was falling apart and still believe in the vision. In those hard moments, I learned who I really was and who God was to me. It built a type of character and faith that success could only shine light on but never create. The pressure shaped me; the struggle gave me depth. And now, when I do succeed, I carry a deeper appreciation because I know what it cost to get here.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
A lot of smart people today are getting it wrong by overcomplicating everything and forgetting the power of consistency, faith, and simplicity. In trading, in music, and even in life, people chase perfection or the next ‘big thing’ instead of mastering the basics and being true to themselves. They think intelligence is about doing more, when sometimes it’s about doing less—with focus. Also, many overlook the spiritual side—thinking everything is just hustle and logic. But without purpose, even the smartest plans can lead you in the wrong direction.”
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had 10 years left, I’d stop doubting myself immediately. I’d stop wasting energy on things and people that don’t align with my purpose. I’d stop overthinking and trying to be perfect. Instead, I’d move boldly in my calling—creating music that speaks life, trading with intention, and pouring into the people and projects that really matter. Time is too valuable to spend second-guessing the gift God already gave me
