We’re looking forward to introducing you to Brooke Pozzi Smith. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Brooke, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
There’s something deeply personal about completing a project when your world feels like it’s falling apart. Recently, I wrapped up a major design project during one of the most difficult seasons of my life. I was stretched thin emotionally, grieving and overwhelmed — but I showed up anyway. I poured what I had into the work, and somehow, beauty was born in the midst of the mess. That project became more than a task — it was a quiet act of resilience.
And as that chapter closed, a new one began. That is to date going to be my most cherished project.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Brooke — Founder of Pozzi Design Group, designer, real estate creative/investor, and co-founder of The Smith Collective, where build meets beauty, elevated. I work to design and develop custom homes with heart, intention, and timeless style.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend soulful storytelling with elevated design — mixing curated vintage finds with fresh, modern elements to create spaces that feel deeply personal. Each project reflects the people behind it — and often, a piece of my own journey too. I have the natural ability to walk into a space and immediately seeing it’s potential.
My resilience shows up in everything I do, from the ability to see the hidden potential in a space and bring to life through thoughtful remodeling and design. I also love the ground up process of new home builds crafted with care. Pozzi Design Group is more than a brand — it’s our family’s way of building legacy, one meaningful space at a time.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that felt the need to carry it all alone.
The version of me that stayed small to avoid conflict, that dimmed her vision to keep the peace.
The part that over-functioned, overthought, and overextended — just to prove I was strong.
She helped me survive some hard chapters. She got me here. But her job is done.
I’m ready to release the part of me that lived in constant defense — and step into a season of creation, clarity, and confidence.
Not just surviving. Building.
Not just functioning. Thriving.
Not just dreaming. Doing.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me to slow down and truly see.
To find beauty in stillness, strength in softness, and purpose in the pieces that felt broken.
It taught me resilience not as hustle, but as grace — the kind that shows up quietly, over and over, even when no one’s watching.
Suffering stripped away the noise.
It made me more present, more intentional, more deeply connected to my why.
It reminded me that the most meaningful work doesn’t come from perfection — it comes from depth.
Success celebrates what’s built.
Suffering reminds me why I need the creative design release.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They’d say I care deeply about my faith and people — not just how they live, but how they feel in the spaces around them.
They’d say I lead with heart, always looking for beauty, meaning, and connection — even in the hard seasons. I love to have a great time not matter what I’m doing!
They’d tell you I value family above everything, that my marriage and my daughter aren’t just part of my life — they are part of my purpose.
They’d say I’m loyal, creative, intuitive — and I never stop dreaming.
They’d probably smile and add:
“She sees potential in everything — a house, a piece of furniture, or a person who’s forgotten their own worth.”
Because to me, what matters most is building a life that’s not just beautiful on the outside — but deeply meaningful within.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
They might think it was all about design. The pretty spaces, the curated finishes, the polished afters.
But the truth is — it was never just about the homes I built.
It was about what and who they were built for.
They might not see the quiet battles I fought behind the scenes. The grief I carried while still choosing to create. The strength it took to lead with softness, in a world that often celebrates noise.
They might miss that my legacy wasn’t just in the finished work — but in the process, the people, the love woven into every detail.
My hope is that over time, they’ll look a little closer — and realize that what I was really building was belonging. Beauty. Meaning.
A life with intention at the center.
