We’re looking forward to introducing you to Bridger Hart & Carson Hart. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Bridger & Carson, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
Most people just see the final experience. They select a color from the wheel and instantly find matching products. What they don’t see is the complexity hidden beneath that simplicity. Before images are even searchable, our AI automatically tags thousands of products by color, and it does it more accurately than a human ever could.
When a color search happens, a symphony of systems works together to deliver results in real time. While the experience feels new and intuitive, the algorithm behind it is far more advanced than the outdated color filters shoppers are used to. It’s a major leap forward in how product discovery can work.
To make this accessible, brands can add this to their Shopify stores in under two minutes with no code required. We built this foundation with growth in mind. It starts with color, but as we release new search technologies, brands will continue to benefit from the simplicity of our platform. That invisible infrastructure took years to build, and we’re proud of how widely it’s being adopted.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We’re Bridger and Carson Hart, brothers and co-founders of Hoppn. We built Infinite Color Search, a patented tech that lets shoppers find products by the exact color they want. Instead of using generic color filters, people can search visually, which feels more natural and leads to significantly faster results.
We launched on Shopify and are already helping name brands turn color into a competitive advantage. The impact is real, with clients increasing average order value and shoppers having an experience that’s fun and useful.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
As fourth-generation entrepreneurs, building is in our DNA. We grew up watching our dad set his own hours and chase self-defined goals from an office he and his partner ran. That environment shaped our mindset early. A DIY attitude and a drive to creatively solve problems became second nature.
Right out of high school, I (Bridger Hart) worked as a visual effects artist at Corridor Digital, a fast-paced film production company. With daily deadlines and rapid turnarounds, I learned the value of consistency and momentum. When you stay in motion, even under pressure, it’s incredible what you can accomplish in just a month.
Many of our investors are successful entrepreneurs themselves. We treat every conversation with them as a masterclass and continuously learn from the people we surround ourselves with.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I’m thankful for most mistakes I make. Mistakes are shortcuts in disguise, to the right way. The important thing is to have an only-solutions mentality in the face of adversity. Growing up with Dyslexia in school, I had no choice but to become an early riser and a late setter. It was the only way I could complete my homework on time. From this, I developed my own methods of learning and time management that I practice to this day.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
Foundational shifts are rooted in universal truths. For instance, the color of a product is critical to your buying decision. This was true in the past, is true today, and will continue to be true for as long as color still exists. After partnering with Spyder Surf, the manager of their Hermosa Beach store showed us how our tech inspired the way they merchandised the physical store. He showed us a rack of jackets that he sorted by color to make it easier to shop. People always want a simpler way to find what they’re looking for. You could spend a lifetime improving product discovery. That’s the foundation we built our company on.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
At the end of the day, I like to reflect on the peak moment of my work. Did I try something new or interesting that’s worth telling a story about? If not, the day might as well have been a cut scene or montage in a movie. Aiming for the best is my default mode, but it’s not entirely about proving it to myself. While we consider ourselves the first customer of our product, we design in service of others. The positive feedback we receive is validating, but it’s not the fuel. The real drive comes from the belief that quality matters most, even when no one is watching.
