An Inspired Chat with Linda Lieffers of Cabo San lucas, Mexico

Linda Lieffers shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Linda, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Stepping into my studio with music playing allows me to tune out the noise of everyday life, creating a sanctuary where I can slip into my zone. As the melodies fill the space, I feel liberated, my brushstrokes flowing freely as all my troubles dissolve into the canvas. Creating art becomes my form of yoga—a meditative escape where each stroke aligns my mind, body, and soul, offering peace and a profound sense of renewal.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My latest collection of water reflections came about from my surroundings here in Mexico. I often get fixated by the shimmers of light and color that dance across the water whether it is in the expansive ocean or my own pool. I am struck by the forever changing beauty of these imperfect, intermittent ripples, and patterns. I often stare at the inverted palm trees reflecting with their wobbly trunks and the masses of distorted color from the vegetation in the pool and thought I need to capture this on canvas. Thus, my Reflecting Water collection came about.

My other abstract artworks are generally of larger scale and coveted for their atmospheric qualities, blended hues, and varying luminosity.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents’ strong work ethic, shaped by their journey from dirt poor to successful business owners, deeply influenced me. Starting with little, they worked tirelessly—my father juggling jobs and my mother mastering new skills—until they built a thriving business through determination and ingenuity. Their resilience taught me to tackle challenges with dedication and turn hard work into opportunities for success

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Being an artist is a rollercoaster of struggles, marked by the highs of creating something beautiful and the lows of inconsistent sales. One moment, a burst of inspiration fuels a masterpiece; the next, months of silence from buyers leave finances strained and confidence shaken. The unpredictability can feel isolating, with rejection or lack of recognition tempting the urge to give up. Yet, the passion for art often pulls through, turning those lows into fuel for resilience and the rare highs of a sale into a reminder of why the journey endures

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
My personality remains a steady anchor whether I’m promoting my artwork on a platform or simply hanging out with friends and family. Rooted in unwavering morals, honesty, and respect for others, I carry the same genuine spirit across all settings. Whether engaging with an online audience or sharing laughs at a family gathering, I stay true to myself, offering authenticity and kindness without pretense. This consistency reflects my core belief in being a real person, building trust and connection wherever I go.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What will you regret not doing?
Looking back, I’d deeply regret not experimenting with or exploring different art styles and mediums, as it would mean missing out on the boundless growth that comes with pushing my creative boundaries. I thrive on challenging myself, diving into the unknown with a fearless spirit, and there’s no limit to where that journey could take me. Whether it’s mastering a new technique, blending mediums, or venturing into uncharted styles, each step fuels my passion and expands my artistic voice. Limiting myself to a single path would feel like stifling the very essence of what drives me to create, and I cherish the freedom to evolve without constraints
