What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?

Sometimes a key moment can make a world of difference in our lives. Those moments are deeply underrepresented in our conversations relative to the importance they play in our lives. We hope to begin to remedy that below.

I like to ease in to my morning — a cup of coffee in hand, my two dogs curled up beside me, and a few quiet minutes snuggled with my husband. I stay unplugged during this time, just soaking in the calm before the day begins.

A little meditation or a setting an intention for the day is always a great start. Then it’s time to get moving: a run through my neighborhood or along the trails by Lake Grapevine clears my head and wakes me up fully. Read More>>

My first ninety minutes rarely look the same: that’s the reality of being on the road so much. I can be up before dawn for live breakfast news in London, on a plane reviewing market reports, or walking into a boardroom in New York. What is consistent is preparation; I wake up and immediately scan the headlines, financial data, and consumer updates, because I know I could be called on to interpret the numbers for millions of viewers within the hour. Integrity is the most important to me because it’s the foundation for trust and lasting relationships-both personally and professionally. Without integrity, intelligence and energy can be misdirected or even harmful. That said, I believe energy is what drives us to act on our values, so I strive to combine integrity with the enthusiasm and determination needed to make a positive impact. Read More>>

For me, the value is in knowing where I want to go, while letting the route take shape as I move. It is sooo cheesy but I do believe it!
A clear vision anchors me and keeps me moving toward what matters most, but I intentionally leave room for detours, surprises, and the kind of opportunities you can’t plan for. To me, a rigid plan feels like an attempt to control the unknown—an act that risks closing doors I don’t even realize exist yet. That’s where curiosity lives, and that’s where the unexpected beauty of the journey comes in. Read More>>

As you might know, I’m a designer by trade, so naturally, I spend a lot of time around creatives. That said, my longtime childhood friends work in other fields, and I find that catching up with them goes a long way in broadening my own horizons. Most of my high school friends are working in tech right now—it’s a totally different world from art. I don’t get to see them as often as I’d like, so it’s always a special occasion when the opportunity arises. Read More>>

After waking up, I meditate for 10-15 minutes; just a brief level set. Then, I exercise. Depending on the day, I either run, use the elliptical machine, or find some other form of being active. I also do 5 minutes of planks and 15 push ups every day. After these activities, I get a cup of coffee and check email before taking a shower and getting ready for the day. During the getting ready part of the morning, I review my calendar and think about how I want to show up for each commitment I have during the day. These activities generally fill the first 90 minutes of each day. Read More>>

I felt most loved when I stopped searching for the approval of others and started recognizing the presence of the true and living God within me. That kind of love isn’t dependent on applause or validation, it’s steady, unconditional, and healing. I also feel deeply loved when I’m surrounded by children. Their hearts are pure, their joy is sincere, and they reflect the kind of love that doesn’t judge, only accepts. In those moments, yes, I did believe I deserved it. Because for once, I wasn’t trying to earn love… I was simply receiving it as I am. Read More>>

I love this question! Recently, I am working on a pop-up afternoon party even with my friends. I start my day with meditation. I have an infant and even though he wakes me up during the night still – morning meditation is a non-negotiable. I spend 30 minutes grounding, clearing my mind and getting clear on my energy for the day before I ever pick up the phone or launch into motion. Sometimes this practice means I have to wake a little before my baby does, but I am a better mother, wife, friend and professional when I take these few quiet minutes to still my mind. Read More>>

🌞 Summer brings a gentle rhythm I cherish deeply. Each morning begins early with breakfast alongside my husband. After that, I ease into a yoga session and tend to little things around the house before waking our baby. Then, off we go—just the two of us—to the studio.

🎨 I adore having my one-year-old with me while I paint. Sometimes we paint together; sometimes he dives into his own creations while I focus for a little while on mine. I’m currently working on a large piece, with a few commissions waiting patiently in line. Read More>>

Lately, I’ve found a lot of joy in meditation. It’s become a space where I can momentarily step outside of the noise of the world and feel a deep connection—with the universe, with myself, and with something beyond thought. There’s a kind of stillness that’s not passive, but powerful. It’s not about escaping—it’s about remembering. In those moments, joy feels less like a feeling and more like a state of truth. Lately, what’s bringing me the most joy is the growth of Find Your Fly®, a passion project rooted in purpose and healing. My husband’s journey inspired the brand, which features vitiligo—a condition that challenged his self-image and sense of belonging. Witnessing his vulnerability as his skin changed pushed me to create something affirming and empowering, not just for him, but for anyone struggling to feel seen. The phrase “Find Your Fly®” was born as a personal reminder that we all carry something beautiful and resilient within us, even in our most uncertain seasons. Read More>>

I am proud of an art exhibition I organized to highlight the work of my students at a retirement community in Rockville, MD. I have been leading workshops there for over 8 years and three of my students (Blu, Ruth, and Rose) have worked diligently on any and all themes. In this art exhibition at Chesapeake Framing Co, each student has a display of 8-12 works. It’s just so much fun to bring their work to the public! And what’s so cool: these women are 92, 96, and 101-years old! Read More>>
