Story & Lesson Highlights with Terrell Finney of Brooklyn NYC

We recently had the chance to connect with Terrell Finney and have shared our conversation below.

Terrell, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Reading My Bible, Going To Church & Really Just Living My Purpose. It’s So Many Things I Want To Do I’m Just Working Towards My Goals. Helping My Family & Loved One Is Very Joyful As Well That Motivates Me A lot.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Terrell Finney From Brooklyn Ny! I’m a Business Owner Of Terrell’s Cleaning Service & an Upcoming Basketball Coach. Growing Up Was A Lil Rough But I Have a Big Family So Help Was There Sometime. For The Most Part My Mom/Brother & Sister Was Moving Around A lot. Shelters Etc… My Mom Motivates Me A lot She Never Gave Up On Her Goals & Had 3 Kids To Look After. Lost My Pops From Cancer. I Have a Story Every Young Kid That Grew Up On Foodstamps.. Roaches In The House.. Section 8 I Been Through It All. But My Story Doesn’t Stop There. One Day I’ll Have a Mulit Million Dollar Business. It’s All On Gods Timing.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
Shoutout To Pastor Samuel. God Is So Real & He Will Send People That You Need. Pastor Is Like My Mentor As Well Anytime I Need To Talk He’s There & Give Me What I Need To Hear Not What I Want To Hear. We All Need Good People Around Us & I Appreciate Him For That. Lauren Is Top Tier Been Through So Much With Her & She’s Always There No Matter What. My Aunt Neicey She Has My Whole Heart/ My Mother Without Her I’m Nothing She Knows Me Inside & Out & Always Keep It Real With Me. My Brother & Sister My Left & Right Hands They Just Motivate Me To Do Better

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’ll Say Times Is Going To Get Tough… But Always Trust In God Without Him Your Nothing & Whatever He Has For You Is Greater Than Anything. Have Patience & Learn How To Forgive. Love People & Most Importantly Help People

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Kyrie Irving. You can tell he’s just a genuine soul. He has so much fame & doesn’t let that define who he is as a person. He loves all kind of people & is a God fearing man & that’s what it’s all about taking care of your people & believing that God will handle everything else

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when sports is on or when I’m at the gym. Heavy on the sports lol that gives me all the peace I need. I love to watch Yankee & Jets Games. I’m a huge basketball fan. I’m just a huge sports fan. Family as well I can just sit there & soak all the love up when family is around.
