We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kimberlie Faybik. Check out our conversation below.
Kimberlie, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Have you stood up for someone when it cost you something?
Yes, unfortunately I have. I am a committed diversity advocate devoted to healing, educating and empowering people in a peaceful, holistic, inclusive environment. I travel around the country teaching classes on consent, non-violent communication, self acceptance, healthy boundaries, etc. I also work with domestic violence survivors to help them find resources. Most of my work is done in the LGBTQ+ community and because of this, I have lost friends and even family members.
I continue to loudly support and be an ally because it’s the right thing to do; especially now. We need more acceptance and equity in the world and less close minded ideologies. If I can help someone during a difficult time then the reward is far greater than the cost.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I started my business in 2014. From an early age I remember being blessed with gifts of Spirit including the ability to communicate with individuals’ higher selves and guides, as well as connecting with deceased loved ones and experiences from past lives.
It wasn’t until 2009 that I realized how strong my connection to Spirit was when I underwent treatment for a stage IV, rare and aggressive type of cancer. During my radiation treatments I was introduced to Reiki and felt absolutely amazing after my first session. I remember leaving the cancer center that day and feeling a shift in my vibration; I could see the auras of everyone and everything around me.
I wanted to know more about Reiki and other holistic modalities so I started taking classes in everything I felt called to do. I became a Reiki Master and Certified Essential Oils practitioner by my one-year cancer-free anniversary. Since then, I furthered my studies and became a Certified Life Coach, Certified Hypnotherapist, Master Herbalist and Holistic Wellness Practitioner.
I fell in love with the holistic world and went on to obtain an AOS in Mind / Body Trasformational Psychology and Clinical Hypnotherapy from the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts as well as a Bachelors in Psychology, Human Development and Alternative Therapeutic Modalities from Prescott College.
Having a stage IV cancer diagnosis was a scary blessing in my life. Had it not been for that part of my journey I would never have stumbled upon my passions.
I know how impersonal our healthcare system is not only because of my own experiences but also from working in a hospital setting for more than 25 years.
I started White Willow Healing Arts as a way to create a more peaceful and holistic healing environment. By combining different modalities, using powerful coaching and proven hypnosis techniques along with my gifts of Spirit, I can assist my clients in resolving negative habits and fears, help them make healthy lifestyle changes, manage chronic pain, resolve and release spiritual trauma and guide them to the outcome they desire.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
My battle with cancer changed my life. My children were three years and six months old and I was in an unhealthy relationship. Prior to my diagnosis I wanted to leave but thought I wouldn’t be able to give my children the life I felt they deserved.
Facing my mortality was a huge wake up call. I asked myself, why fight cancer if I don’t value myself? Why stay in a relationship where I’m not happy and have my children witness the fighting?
Eleven months after my diagnosis, I moved out with my kids and chose to live life to the best of my ability. I found joy in the little things and saw the world through my children’s eyes. I chose myself.
Sixteen years later, I’m still exploring the world, being a safe space for not only my children but for many others who need it; just like I did. I live unapologetically and authentically with my bright red hair and crystals in my pocket. I’m proud of the woman I’ve become and grateful for the journey that got me here.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Every evening I light a candle and ask my guardians and guides to be with me and those I love. I make sure to give thanks for the events that got me to where I am by saying “thank you for the lessons and the opportunity to grow through them. Thank you for allowing me to help others through my experiences.”
I truly believe that if I hadn’t had the experiences I did, I wouldn’t be able to connect with people on a meaningful level. The ability to say “you’re not alone” is what I am able to share with others because of the path I walked. I truly am grateful for it.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
I believe when our souls transition to their next destination, we carry memories and energy from each of our previous lifetimes. Of course, there is no way to physically prove this but I have witnessed evidence of this through my work.
When I do Reiki on someone, I can not only see but feel their energy from their different lifetimes. I recognize how it manifests in their current lifetime and how it is helping or hurting their progress. At times, I can even feel it as a stagnant mass within their Chakra or an ache in their body.
Often, a client will reach out after a session and tell me their aches or issues are gone but sometimes the energy is so deeply rooted, it takes several sessions to clear it. This happens when a person had a tragic life no matter which timeline.
I also believe our souls reside in a place of pure love and light. This was shown to me by the spirit of a woman who passed from breast cancer. I was doing Reiki on her sister when she came through. When I told my client about the spirit she wanted to know if her sister was still in pain. The spirit told me there is no pain and only love. Shen then made me feel as if I was being hugged by everyone I’ve ever loved; it was such a beautiful experience. I wish I could share that feeling with others.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me as someone who helped others see the beauty inside theirselves. I hope I’ve made a positive impact in people’s lives. I hope my children remember how much I love them and how hard I worked to make sure the world didn’t darken their hearts. I also hope they saw that I failed many times but I never gave up. Oh, and the bright red hair; a lot of people remember me for that too.
