We’re looking forward to introducing you to Mike Goldstein. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Mike, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
The network and community behind it I’ve managed to make over the years. You never know how one connection can help with a referral or what it could lead to.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Mike Goldstein here, owner and operator of Capital City Pedicabs as we are about to kick off year 13 in business. We provide pedicab rides and tours in Tallahassee, Florida as well as year round affordable marketing opportunities via our social media, monthly t shirts and pedicab banners. We operate in the state’s capital year round as there is plenty to do here all year!
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before I was “Mike The Bike” I was just Mike but my earlier part of my life helped shaped me into who I am today. Family, friends and the community I’m proud to call home have all been a big part of the journey along the way.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I fire and rehire myself every day. Running the day to day operations of a business isn’t for the weak and isn’t as easy as it looks online. There’s a lot of behind the scenes that happens to make sure Capital City Pedicabs is still here.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
There’s more to life than money as we can’t get time back. Yes, money is important to survive but have some fun along the way to live too.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
Honestly when I’m riding around just seeing what’s out in the city. I may not get any rides or get too many but in that moment all I feel is peace with the air flowing and the possibilities being endless.
