Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Kordell Rashad of Dallas

Kordell Rashad shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Kordell, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: When was the last time you felt true joy?
To be honest I feel joy everyday at some point in the day randomly. I feel it because I’m alive and well and I remember the dark days so vividly that it puts a smile on my face when I see how far I’ve came.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
What’s good bold journey thanks for having me again. This ya boy Kordell Rashad owner of art world productions, author, social media viral voiceovers, artist, creative and businessman. I want to say I believe it all speaks for itself. I love art and been apart of the art community since I was a kid. I’m here to keep the elevation and motivation intact for other entrepreneurs who may want to do the same things that I do. I’m simply just a beacon of light for those that are ready to give up then they see me and boom now they are motivated and ready to WORK! BIG s/o to you though bold journey for the last year n a half of sticking with me. I’ve seen people I know who seen me chat with you and decided as well to be apart of bold journey so with that being said I guess I’m doing my JOB!

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
A number of things destroys bonds between people. The main ones are betrayals, lies, gossip, jealousy, envy and the list goes on. Depending on how damaging they are to the bond will more than likely give you an idea of if that relationship can be restored. Sometimes after so much negativity has been put inside of a bond you have with someone it is almost impossible to restore them. I believe however if two people can just put aside their pride in most cases a bond can not only be restored but can be even better. Unfortunately most people will choose their pride and rather let a bridge that is burned stay demolished and will have no intentions on fixing it back up. Some people would proudly die before they reignited a bond that probably could easily be fixed with a simple apology and an admission to misunderstandings.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are enough no matter who rejects you! Then I would hug that younger me.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
I used to believe That time waits for no man. I find that time doesn’t even matter. It’s just a saying of someone who uses an excuse to overindulge usually and more than likely they lack patience to get something that they are itching to have. I stopped worrying about time because the clock can stop without a warning. What is meant for me will happen no matter the obstacles that comes and that belief is now totally obsolete!

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If immortality were real, what would you build?
This question is so cool! If I can take you out of space with my answer I’d say if I had immortality I’d probably build a time traveling machine just to go and visit the people I’ve loved throughout life. I’d probably go back in time just to see who I used to be and to different time periods just to see how others lived. If I was aware that I’d be here forever I’d just keep jumping timelines for fun LOL . Loved this question by the way!
