An Inspired Chat with DJ Truth

We recently had the chance to connect with DJ Truth and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning DJ, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
It’s the Beared Dad DJ Truth what it is what it do world! I was a mixtape DJ but now I’m a full time podcaster (FOH Podcast), part-time actor (FOH Films) and editor for Str8 Factz Podcast. Now I started doing reactions on Instagram videos and called it #TruthsCorner. Starting doing the Truths Corner videos got people to come to my page and notice all the things I have going on. My page reached up to a million views. So with all that saying, I’m continuing to do all of that and be a FATHER & HUSBAND!

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
To make it or be successful you had to play sports or go to college. Today we have so many successful people that never stepped a foot on a field or court nor on a college campus. There are many opportunities to learn and be successful from reading books or simply the internet IF you USE it RIGHT!

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Believe in yourself cause everyone not going see and believe what you want or trying to do. Only you knows and watch them fall in line once they see your success!

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Building a brand (FOH Brand) but I can’t do it alone. Me & my homeboys (Sayso, Twinbaby & JaJeaux) are building a brand all entertainment as for podcast, films, clothing industry and music. We doing all of this from the mud with no one helping us it’s just US!

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes I can! Cause I don’t do things now to get praised for. One thing I was taught is ti always give your best no matter what cause you don’t know when its going count the most. And trust me once they see the success they will start praising you.
