Sherrie A Robinson shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Sherrie A, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I would say, really think about what I want my legacy to look like. As I’ve gotten older each year I begin to really focus on the direction I would like my life to go. So fo me at this time growing and developing my interpersonal skills are important.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Sherrie A Robinson. I was born and raised in Chicago,IL. I’m an Author, Certified Life Coach and most recently host to my first conference. Girl Get Up! Empowerment Conference and Brunch was sponsored by my life coaching business Arise and Shine Life Coaching LLC. My current website is: www.sherrierobinsonenterprises.com. I’m a Faith based business in that I work with Christian women that want to build confidence after enduring a “toxic” relationship.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I believe that part of me that felt insecure and like I wasn’t good enough. I’ve released this part of myself when I wrote my first book Beauty For Ashes The Actual Truth About Love It’s Not A Fairytale and I identified that I have a voice. What I have to say matters even if it’s one person that listens that’s enough for me.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Yes, I would say that your more than enough. Girl take up space and don’t ever shrink back for anyone or anything.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
I believe in authenticity. I try to maintain the same level professionally as I do in my private life. What you see in the public rather it’s on social media or in real life is the same version you would receive in private as well.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I was a woman of integrity and good character. I would want future generations to read my writings and understand that the work was produced by the pressures of life but I endured through anyway.
