We recently had the chance to connect with Dr. Lee Benton and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Lee, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I wake up, and before my feet hit the floor I Praise the Lord. I ask Him to bless our day. I thank Him for my blessings. When I am still and silent, He gives me names of people I am to Pray for. I hug and love on my dogs while still in bed as they patiently wait for their food, and then we go downstairs and while I am prepping my dogs’ food and ensuring the outside bird feeders are full and they have enough water. I also leave nuts on the wall for the squirrels and the crows, I sing His praises (sometimes I make up the songs).

Most mornings I call my BFF, Terry Moore who is now 96 and we pray together and read a devotional and the bible. Then we all sing together as well, including my husband and doggies. By this time, the humans get to make breakfast and start our day right with love and peace.

Then I have to return phone calls and emails. After that I get busy with my CEO of Media and Ministry, Kaz Morgan, and we spend a lot of time on Ministry business.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Dr. Lee Benton is an Actress, Producer, Author, Speaker and Evangelist based in Southern California. Her Award-Winning Television and Radio Show, “VICTORY ROAD with Lee Benton,” brings people hope and inspires them with victory stories from celebrities and others. Benton has starred and guest starred on many TV shows as a series regular and has performed in leading and supporting roles in many films and continues to do so. She started a Bible study in Hollywood in 1990 that eventually grew into the worldwide non-denominational Lee Benton Ministries International, and has been holding monthly church services in Hollywood since 2012 and is currently being held at the Former CBS Studios, now Radford Studio Center. Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Breaks Bonds – Mistrust, disloyalty, betrayal.
Restores- Forgiveness and how we are able to forgive and bless them which is not an overnight fix. God knows that we do not mean it at first as it is impossible to open up your heart right away, but by blessing them every day that magical transformation by God takes place, and that is when you start meaning it. You are now able to see through Gods eyes, and not the eyes of bitterness, hurt, anger, hate and resentment. By forgiving someone, does not mean that you have to be friends or let them into your circle again or allow them to be as close as you were. Blessing those who have hurt us or caused us great pain, will prove if they are truly sorry or not and show repentance, which means to change.
Give them time to prove they have changed, by not what they say but what they do. Time validates character.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
It was through the decade of sorrows, which is in my book R.S.V.P to Heaven (which tells about the decade of sorrows) I learned that I am stronger than I thought I was, and learned through the sorrow and suffering that God kept His Word by saying “If you continue to trust Him during the down times, that He would restore the losses, if we do not give up and only believe, just as He did for Job in the bible. Job never gave up and never quit, so God gave him what he had before and more, and gave him better than before. That is exactly what happened to me.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My faith is rooted in God the Father, God the Son – Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit then my family, which includes my dogs and then my dear friends. After that it would be Lee Benton Ministries International, which includes the global networks we are on and our monthly services at the studio in LA. Acting in family and faith based films and shows would be next.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I want my legacy to be that I loved Father God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit with all my heart. I’ve loved my pets and all animals and precious family and dear friends. I pray that everyone will pray the R.S.V.P Prayer that can be found in my book or on my website and also I would like people to respect and love animals and know that they have a soul.
