We recently had the chance to connect with Ash Laverdiere & Jamie Humes and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ash & Jamie, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
What we’re most proud of building, and what nobody really sees, is the backbone of our business. (The systems and structure that make everything we do look and feel seamless.) From the outside, it might seem like it’s all beautiful outfits and creative content, but behind the scenes we’ve built a process that makes our clients feel seen, supported, and taken care of at every step.
We’ve created frameworks and touchpoints that go far beyond shopping or styling: they allow us to guide someone through a transformation in a way that feels personalized, thoughtful, and stress-free.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We’re Ashley and Jamie, the duo behind Two Blueprints Styling. We help people align who they are on the inside with what they wear on the outside. For us, style is about creating confidence and ease. Our work is unique because it’s not just about clothes, it’s about guiding people through a transformation that leaves them feeling authentic, empowered, and excited to get dressed.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told us who we had to be, we were women who led with creativity, curiosity, and a genuine desire to connect with others. That’s always been at the core of who we are. For years we tried on roles that didn’t fully reflect that, but ultimately we returned to what we do best….helping people feel seen, confident, and authentic. Today, we use style as the tool to do just that, empowering our clients to align who they are with how they show up in the world.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Ashley; Yes: there were definitely moments I felt like giving up. Building a business is deeply rewarding, but it’s also exhausting at times. In the early days, I questioned if people really understood the value of what I was doing, and whether I could keep pouring so much of myself into it. But every time I’ve hit that wall, I’ve had a client breakthrough or a moment of impact that reminded me why I started. I also found my business partner, Jamie, at the perfect time. She was able to provide so much value and help me refocus.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
An important truth we hold that not everyone agrees with is that personal style has very little to do with fashion.
Fashion is external and ever-changing, but style is internal.
We believe personal style is one of the most powerful tools for confidence and self-expression, and that’s something many people don’t fully realize until they experience it.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
We’re doing what we were born to do. For a long time, like many people, we followed the path of what we were told we should do. (The corporate careers, the conventional definitions of success.) Now we get to express our creativity and passion for helping people every single day. And let’s be honest… we get to shop for a living, and what could be better than that?
