We’re looking forward to introducing you to Milyssa Rose. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Milyssa, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I’m officially signed with Truth Records, a label that aligns with my vision and sound. Even more exciting, I’m co-headlining Juggalo Night 7 in San Antonio, Texas on November 8th, 2025—a wild, high-energy event at Cherrity Bar featuring headliner VenomStayDrippin. It’s an honor to be part of a lineup that celebrates underground culture and connects with a passionate community.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a multi-award-winning artist, entrepreneur, and performer with a fierce, genre-blending style. My music reflects resilience—especially after losing my mentor D. Cox—and I channel that into empowering tracks and bold live shows. From opening for Faith Evans to collaborating with underground talent, I bring heart, hustle, and high-voltage energy to everything I do.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
After losing my close friend and mentor D. Cox, I nearly walked away from music. Instead, I turned grief into fuel, expanding my creative team and pushing my artistry to new heights.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
When I lost my close friend and mentor D. Cox, it nearly broke me. The grief was so heavy, I seriously considered walking away from music altogether. He had been such a guiding force in my life and career, and without him, everything felt dim.
But instead of giving up, I chose to honor his legacy by pushing forward. I expanded my creative team, redefined my sound, and poured every ounce of emotion into my work. That moment changed me—not just as an artist, but as a person. My music now carries the weight of that journey, and I wear that resilience with pride.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
Being authentic in an industry that often follows popular trends.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
In the mountains by a river.
