We recently had the chance to connect with Lauren Paez and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I am incredibly grateful for many moments lately that I am proud of. Recently, we completed our United States sales map, successfully selling to all 50 states. I opened my first storefront at the age of 26, right on the heels of celebrating a decade in business.
Visit us at Painted Tree in Scottsdale. You can find us at B29 16227 N Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254. We are open from 10 AM to 8 PM daily.
Additionally, I launched a new intentionally made jewelry collection called the Spirit Fam Collection with Rebekah, The Ghost Guide. It has been an honor and joy to work with her. She is so kind and full of wisdom to share. Last year, I was even a part of her reader’s team, and it was an incredible experience I will always cherish.
We have some exciting upcoming collaborations that I am thrilled about! We will be participating in the Makers Hive Market at Desert Ridge Marketplace on October 25, 2025, from 11 AM to 4 PM.
Moreover, I will be a vendor at the Phoenix Winter Fantasy Ball 2025: Dragons & Embers, which will take place on December 5, 2025, in Chandler, AZ, at The Ashley Castle. I have wanted to work with Leslie and her team since I attended their first-ever Starfall Ball in Colorado. They create a beautifully fun atmosphere filled with joy and magic.
I am ecstatic to collaborate with both of these companies and am even creating a fantasy-inspired collection to showcase. I am thankful for these opportunities and excited to try something new. I look forward to these exciting milestones!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Lala Lotus Co. is a woman-powered, family-owned business rooted in the rich fabric of ancestry and artistry. We are dedicated to creating intentionally crafted art, jewelry, and ethically sourced crystals that resonate with purpose. Our bestsellers, including handmade crystal bracelets, blessing stones, and oracle reading and reiki services, reflect our commitment to healing and connection.
Community holds a special place in our hearts, and we proudly collaborate with nonprofits like Lyme Warrior and Forever Loved Pets. Our free monthly YouTube live sessions provide an opportunity for mini oracle readings and engaging chats with our certified energy healer and reiki master, fostering connection and support.
The journey of building this company began at just 16, following my diagnosis with chronic Lyme disease. This challenge ignited a transformative journey, teaching me valuable lessons and guiding me to train in energy healing and reiki. With a bachelor’s degree in business and a focus on entrepreneurship, I embraced my creative spirit, teaching myself to craft jewelry and listen to my intuition.
Alex Hermosillo taught me the ways of energy healing, while I became a master of reiki under the tutelage of Olivia Holliday, these powerful modalities have profoundly changed my life. I now offer energy healing, reiki services, and oracle readings, applying the wisdom I’ve gained every day.
All my crystal products are infused with intention and reiki, harnessing the healing power of this incredible modality. My mission is to share this light with the world while giving back. Collaborating with nonprofits allows me to make a meaningful impact, and portions of proceeds support these vital organizations. I warmly welcome suggestions for new partnerships that align with our shared vision!

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
I believe my mom saw me more clearly than I saw myself during my childhood and teenage years. She always believed in my potential and never discouraged me. While I am still a work in progress, her unwavering support has been immensely transformative. In the past, I would freeze and shy away from risks; now I understand that anything is possible, and it’s up to us to discern if the risk is worth the reward. A little ambition is essential; if your dreams don’t scare you just a bit, it’s time to dream even bigger and bolder. The energy we put into the world is powerful, and how we speak to and about ourselves truly matters.
In the past, I would diminish my own presence. I wouldn’t voice my thoughts, take chances, or embrace my full self. Why? I wanted to be more “digestible” and accepted, fitting in with others. This survival mechanism, born from fear, gave me an illusion of safety. In truth, I was stifling myself and dimming my own light for the comfort of others. I had to work through this realization, understanding that my curiosity, ambition, and boldness should not make others uncomfortable. We only live once, and I have a life to embrace. I am grateful for the beautiful life I am building, filled with art, love, and adventure. What others think of my life is not my concern. I work hard, I am authentic, and I am one of a kind, which gives me a unique advantage in my field. Originality is a gift to be celebrated. Unapologetically embracing my presence is truly a superpower.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Running a spiritually based business is profoundly gratifying, yet it requires courage. I am immensely proud of what I’ve created, as it embodies my energy, dreams, beliefs, and intentions. It is an echo of my own energy, a reflection of my soul. Every day, I pray that it makes a positive impact on others.
My journey has been a tapestry of incredible victories and daunting challenges. I’ve faced rock-bottom moments and almost gave up, grappling with grief from losing loved ones and the exhausting battles with Lyme disease and mold exposure. Yet, I refuse to remain trapped in despair; I embraced my suffering as a catalyst for growth. My solid foundations and support from loved ones kept me moving forward. Each fall inspires me to set new goals, dream bigger, and take action.
When people ask, “But what if you fail?” I respond, “So what if I do?” If I fail, it means I’m being guided elsewhere, and I take pride in having tried with no regrets. What frightens me more than failing is never knowing what could have been and remaining stagnant.
“Every positive thought is an affirmation that can redirect your life.” — Lawney
My mom always reminded me, “Everyone suffers; it’s how you handle it that matters.” My experiences with suffering have taught me to treat myself kindly and hold onto my tenacity, ambition, and passion. Dreams bring hope, and hope lights the way through our darkest moments. Personally, I refuse to allow unresolved trauma to become a mental trap for myself.
By sharing my journey, I hope to empower others to be bold and authentic. Perfection is an unattainable illusion; we all have strengths and weaknesses. You are blessed with this precious thing called life. Stumbling is part of the journey. Have you ever asked, “What if you fly?” To me, the potential of realizing my dreams is worth the growing pains. One day, I will look back and know I lived fully, creating a life rich in love, health, and passion. I dreamt, dared to be bold, and explored new paths. It may not be the conventional way, but it’s my chosen way to live. I aspire to leave a legacy that inspires and uplifts others long after I’m gone.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
An essential truth that may not resonate with everyone is the importance of energetic accountability, responsibility, and mental health for healers. Mental health is vital in this journey. If you’re not committed to personal growth, how can you extend your hand to uplift others? Being a reiki master and energy healer carries immense energetic responsibility and accountability. Clients often approach me in vulnerable states, and holistic healing is frequently a deeply emotional journey. This sacred connection makes it crucial to know who your healer is and their practices. Never hesitate to ask questions. If a healer makes you feel uncomfortable for inquiring or dismisses the need for energetic protection, those are significant red flags.
I strive to embody transparency in my approach. Grounded in my Christian faith while embracing spirituality, I bless the space before and after every session with prayers specific to the individual’s needs that day—be it health, clarity, guidance, or other heartfelt requests. The cleansing of the space with sacred smoke or essential oils is also part of my practice. My role as a healer does not involve taking your energy or imparting mine; rather, I facilitate the balancing and processing of energies within your body, addressing your spiritual, emotional, and physical needs. I support the release of stagnant energies and the breaking of energetic blocks while cleaning up your auric field and centering your energy. My intention is to usher in new energy purposefully. Often, what individuals seek is simply a space where they feel supported in a judgment-free, safe environment. This necessity for energy protection is as crucial as client confidentiality; creating a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere is my solemn duty.
Being a reiki master or energy healer is a commitment and responsibility. To help others effectively, self-care is non-negotiable. It’s a delicate balance; we must practice what we preach, engaging in shadow work, setting boundaries, grounding practices, and journaling. While we can assist in releasing stagnant or blocked energy, we do not take that energy from you or transfer our energy to you. This is why energetic accountability is paramount. One must set aside ego while being open to learning and ongoing self-improvement. It’s called a practice for a reason. You must be able to embrace the spirit of active listening. Authenticity and integrity are the cornerstones of this vital work.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I believe I am doing what I was born to do, with my success intricately tied to my natural gifts and abilities. My true edge lies in my curiosity, dedication to knowledge, and personal growth. I am on a transformative journey, and as I evolve, so does Lala Lotus Co. We began with jewelry, and my training in energy healing and reiki inspired us to expand into providing services and teaching. Throughout this journey, I have listened to my intuition and felt guided in profound ways.
A pivotal moment occurred about three years after starting Lala Lotus Co. when a mysterious box appeared on our doorstep. Upon investigation, we discovered it contained the remnants of my late grandmother’s jewelry business, Lorelei Company. I was astonished; the box held family heirlooms like a pocket prayer book and a spoon ring my mom had told me stories about as a child, alongside amazing, authentic vintage and antique jewelry pieces and crystals. The synchronicities we experienced were so remarkable that we could not dismiss them as simple coincidences. This inspired me to honor and revive Lorelei Company under Lala Lotus Co., in memory of my beloved artistic ancestor, Diana Adams.
Recognition is secondary to the love I have for what I do. I pour my heart and soul into creating, healing, learning, and evolving as a human being. Being born an artist, as the third generation in my family, is not just a heritage; it is a feeling deep within my spirit. Creating grants me freedom, self-expression, and pride.
In the act of creation, I enter a meditative state that helps me channel energy and regulate my own. This is how I craft many of our pieces, including divinely guided custom creations. Clients share their intentions or information about their guides, and I assist in finding stones and elements that resonate with that energy. Together, we create pieces that foster a deeper connection with their intentions, ranging from representations of ancestors to saints, angels, and more.
To me, the art of creation is magical and deeply aligned with divine feminine energy. Engaging in creative work and practicing energy healing and reiki have not only saved my life but enriched it. Every creation carries energy and intention, calming my mind and ushering in peace. Practicing these healing modalities promotes a flow of grounded energy, connects me with my spirit guides, holds me accountable, and fosters self-reflection and personal growth. Even without our incredible community, I would continue this work, if only for myself.
I love to film and discuss the energy and intention behind each piece at Lala Lotus Co., sharing major milestones and business updates through our social media. There, you’ll find many one-of-a-kind treasures. I am grateful for our ever-growing community and cherish the connections I create with others. It is an honor to craft pieces that become treasured memories.
