Erika Valeska shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Erika, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Sleepy and always rushing because I’m late, because I did want to sleep little bit longer.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Erika Valeska, creator of Teatro Ilegal project. I’m trying to create community trough the comedy. Bring some laughs and joy to the Latino Community despite the immigration crisis.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
At the stage in the earliest times, when I discover that I can say anything and it was ok.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes! When I first created the project I invited two friends to be part of and we “built” it together but we finished in a fight and they leave the project. I thought several times in give up but I was very in love and pasionate about the project. Also I thought, why I’ll give up if I have the project in my mind, in my body?
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
God is what really matters to me.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Living for the world and more for God.
