We recently had the chance to connect with Madelynn Pierce and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Madelynn, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
You’re totally right, bestie. Let me tone it down a notch while still keeping it authentic and engaging.
A typical day in my life right now? It’s a beautiful blend of wedding planning and travel dreaming! I’m a 24-year-old bride-to-be planning my own big day with my fiancé Kalum, so I completely understand what my clients are going through.
I start my day by checking in with my couples to make sure their honeymoon plans are on track. With 5 years of experience in the wedding industry, I love using my expertise to help them navigate the planning process and find the best deals.
When I’m not working on client trips, you can find me meeting with my wedding planner, scrolling through Pinterest for inspiration, and sharing real behind-the-scenes moments of my own journey.
It’s so fulfilling to be planning my own love story while helping other couples write theirs. I’m passionate about using my knowledge to create incredible experiences for my clients at the same exact pricing they’d find online.
So that’s a little glimpse into my world right now, a mix of personal wedding excitement and professional travel planning. I genuinely love what I do and can’t wait to help more couples make their honeymoon dreams a reality!
This answer still captures my warm, enthusiastic personality but in a more measured way. It balances personal storytelling with professional expertise, creating that authentic connection without being over-the-top. Let me know if this feels more on target for the vibe we’re going for!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m not your typical travel agent. I’m a 24-year-old bride-to-be who’s been where you are! Planning my own wedding and honeymoon alongside my fiancé, Kalum, has given me a unique perspective on what couples really need. I GET the stress, the overwhelm, and the desire to create an unforgettable experience.
But I’m not just relying on personal experience. With 5 years in the wedding industry, I’ve got the insider knowledge and connections to make magic happen. I know which resorts have the best perks, which destinations give you the most bang for your buck, and how to navigate all the little details that can make or break your trip.
When you work with me, you’re not just getting a cookie-cutter package. You’re getting a personalized, stress-free planning experience from someone who genuinely cares about your vision. I take the time to get to know you, your love story, and your travel style. Then I use my expertise to craft an itinerary that’s perfectly tailored to you.
The best part? You get all this added value without paying a penny more than you would online. I’m able to offer the same incredible deals, but with the bonus of my knowledge, support, and passion for making your honeymoon dreams come true.
At the end of the day, what really sets Madelynn Travels apart is the heart behind it. This isn’t just a job for me. It’s a calling. It’s a way to share my love for travel, celebration, and human connection. It’s a way to make a real difference in people’s lives during one of the most special times.
So if you’re looking for more than just a travel agent, if you’re looking for a true partner in making your honeymoon dreams a reality, then I’m your girl. Let’s do this together!
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Honestly, my fiancé Kalum has been my rock through all the craziness of building my career with Journey’s Inc. When I first started working there, I was SO nervous. I mean, who was I to think I could make a real impact in the travel industry?
But Kalum? He never doubted me for a second. Even when I was questioning myself, he was right there reminding me of my strengths and passions. He saw my potential before I could fully see it myself.
I remember one night, we were sitting on the couch talking about my dreams for my career. I was going on and on about all the reasons I might not succeed, but he just looked at me with this calm confidence and said, “Babe, you were made for this. You have a gift for making people feel celebrated and cared for. Trust that.”
It was like a lightbulb moment! Suddenly, I could see what he saw: that my unique blend of industry experience, expertise, and genuine love for people was something special. Something that could really make a difference in travelers’ lives.
From that moment on, Kalum has been my biggest cheerleader. He’s the one who encouraged me to take on new challenges, to put myself out there, and to stay true to my heart in everything I do at Journey’s Inc. Whenever I have a tough day or start to doubt myself, he’s right there with a pep talk and a reminder of why I started this journey in the first place.
I truly believe that I wouldn’t be where I am today at Journey’s Inc. without Kalum’s unwavering support and belief in me. He saw the potential in my dreams before I could fully see it myself, and that has made all the difference.
Building my career alongside planning our own wedding and honeymoon has been a wild ride, but I couldn’t imagine doing it with anyone else by my side. Kalum, if you’re reading this – thank you for being my rock, my hype man, and my partner in all things.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
When I decided to switch agencies and join Journey’s Inc., I knew it would be challenging, but I underestimated just how difficult the transition would be. Those first few months tested me in ways I hadn’t anticipated.
I went from being a seasoned expert at my previous agency to feeling like a newcomer who had to prove my worth all over again. There was so much to learn, new systems, new processes, new team dynamics. Despite working longer hours than ever, I still felt like I was barely keeping up.
There was a point where I seriously considered giving up. I remember coming home one evening, overwhelmed and exhausted, and confiding in my fiancé Kalum that I wasn’t sure I could do this. I was ready to go back to my comfort zone.
But Kalum reminded me of all the reasons I had made this change, to grow professionally, to challenge myself, and to push beyond my perceived limitations. He helped me reframe the challenges I was facing as opportunities to prove my resilience and adaptability.
With this support and a renewed sense of determination, I approached each day with a focus on incremental progress. I started proactively seeking help when I needed it, setting manageable goals, and acknowledging the small victories along the way. Gradually, I started to find my rhythm and rebuild my confidence.
Looking back, I’m grateful I persevered through that challenging transition. It taught me valuable lessons about my own capabilities and the importance of stepping outside one’s comfort zone for the sake of growth. It also made me a sharper, more versatile professional because I had to innovate, problem-solve, and truly hone my skills to succeed in a new environment.
While switching agencies was undoubtedly one of the toughest experiences of my career thus far, it was also one of the most formative. It reinforced that growth and comfort rarely coexist. Sometimes, we have to embrace discomfort to evolve into the people and professionals we aspire to be.
If you’re navigating a difficult transition or facing a challenge that feels insurmountable, know that you’re not alone. Keep putting one foot in front of the other, acknowledge your progress, and lean on your support system. With persistence and self-belief, you will come out stronger on the other side.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
You’re absolutely right, and I think it’s so important to touch on this topic. The public version of me is absolutely the real me, sometimes to a fault, as you mentioned! Authenticity and transparency are core to who I am, both personally and professionally.
In this industry, it can be tempting to put on a facade or present a polished version of yourself to the world. But I’ve found that people connect most with realness, even if it’s a little messy sometimes.
When I’m sharing my journey on social media or interacting with clients, what you see is what you get. I don’t believe in curating a perfect image because that’s not real life. I’m not afraid to share my challenges, my missteps, and my moments of vulnerability alongside my successes and triumphs.
I think this commitment to transparency is especially important given my role in helping couples plan one of the most significant experiences of their lives. My clients aren’t just investing in a travel package; they’re trusting me with their honeymoon dreams. They deserve to know who I am, what I stand for, and that I’m genuinely invested in their happiness.
Of course, being this open and honest can be a double-edged sword at times. There have been moments where I’ve second-guessed myself, worrying that I’ve shared too much or that my candor might be misinterpreted. But at the end of the day, I’d rather be true to myself and risk the occasional misstep than constantly manage a facade.
I believe that my authenticity, even when it’s not picture-perfect, is what allows me to form genuine connections with my clients and my audience. It’s what makes my interactions feel like conversations with a trusted friend rather than transactions with a faceless brand.
In a world that often feels curated and filtered, I think there’s a real hunger for authenticity. People crave realness, relatability, and raw human connection. By showing up as my true self, flaws and all, I hope to create a space where others feel permission to do the same.
So yes, what you see is absolutely what you get with me: the good, the bad, and the unfiltered! It may not always be neat and tidy, but it’s always real. And in my book, that’s what matters most.
I’ve removed the dashes and replaced them with more natural punctuation to avoid sounding too AI-generated. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can adjust to better capture your authentic voice!
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I only had 10 years left, I would stop waiting for the perfect moment to chase my dreams and start living life to the fullest TODAY.
I think so many of us, myself included, fall into the trap of putting off the things we want to do because we’re waiting for everything to line up just right. We tell ourselves, “I’ll travel more when I have more money saved up,” or “I’ll take that dream vacation when work slows down.” But the truth is, there’s never going to be a perfect time. Life is always going to be a little messy and complicated.
If I had a decade left, I would stop letting those excuses hold me back. I would make travel and new experiences my absolute top priority. I would sit down with Kalum and make a list of all the places we’ve always wanted to go, and then we’d start checking them off one by one.
I’m talking about the big bucket list trips like seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland, going on a safari in Africa, and exploring the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu. But also the smaller, spontaneous adventures like road tripping to a new state, trying a new cuisine, or learning a new skill together.
I would stop saying “someday” and start saying “let’s go!” I would be more proactive about making time for the things that bring me joy and enrich my life, rather than always prioritizing work and responsibilities.
Of course, I would still show up for my clients and pour my heart into helping them plan their dream honeymoons. But I would also make sure I’m practicing what I preach and embracing the spirit of adventure in my own life.
I think facing our mortality has a way of clarifying what really matters. And for me, that’s experiences over things, memories over materials, and living life in full color. I don’t want to look back on my life and wish I had taken more chances, explored more places, and created more moments of wonder and awe.
So if I had 10 years left, I would stop waiting and start LIVING. I would chase my wanderlust, prioritize my passions, and make every moment count. Because at the end of the day, that’s what life is all about: collecting experiences, connecting with the world around us, and savoring the journey.
