An Inspired Chat with ROBIN HAMMAN of St Augustine FL

We’re looking forward to introducing you to ROBIN HAMMAN. Check out our conversation below.

ROBIN, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
When I open my eyes in the morning the first thing I do is pray. After getting out of bed I make sure the dogs and cat have been tended to and then I start a 90 min ritual of prayer, contemplation and Bible reading. This first 90 min of my day are the most valued to me. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Ps. 4:23

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi there! My name is Robin Hamman and I am an artist, author and Mom. Over the past 30 years I have pursued a life of creativity that has manifested its self into an intense drive to know God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit through art. I created paintings in the past depicting Bible passages. Think the two blind beggars, Jesus’s analogy of the mustard seed and a few others. But now, in conjunction with the Holy Spirit my art is turning more to the prophetic and painting as a form of prayer. As a Catholic I make the sign of the cross over my body several times a day. I started to wonder what that would look like at the end of my life. All of those indelible marks of the cross. So I began to paint crosses on small canvasses over and over and over again. Thus became TheIndeliblemark.com. I will be opening my own studio soon where I intend to teach others about prophetic and prayerful art.

In the past few decades leading up to this I had created hundreds if not thousands of small cup paintings. These small paintings began as a “doodle” for me and over time took on a life of their own. That story and the devotional/ journal they became can be found at 100 Cups of Compassion.com. Then there are my pet portraits. Hundreds of them. Those also became journal/devotionals and can be seen at The Twisted Leash.com. My most recent project was a true story about my son when he was a little boy and a Christmas tree he gave to our elderly neighbors. Mrs. Robertson’s Christmas Tree can be found on Amazon and was an Amazon best seller. Lastly, my latest art adventure #mylittlearthouse is a little art house that I placed in front of my home where everyone in the community can take a little art and leave a little art. Think Little Library but with little art.

My academic achievements are as follows: A tech degree in computer design, an AA in fine art, a BA in Fine art, a masters in Arts In Medicine, a certification in art ministry and currently a certificate competing two years in the Encounter School of ministry.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents. They had a good work ethic

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I give up over and over again. But I always come back.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
They don’t read or take the Bible seriously. They don’t in academia, they don’t in science, they don’t in medicine….The list goes on. They will all agree that the Bible is one of the most if not THE most important “books” in the world, but nobody reads it, studies it or puts the teachings into daily practices. Scientists dismiss its teachings even though it is where most of their theories started. The same with doctors, researchers. It is the “missing link” to a lot of important decisions that are made in the world all because people are self motivated. I fight with selfishness daily don’t think I am above this statement. lol

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I don’t really believe in building a legacy. I live one day at a time. It is all I can handle.
