We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kimberly Camacho. Check out our conversation below.
Kimberly , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I have been finding a lot of joy boxing at Combat Cardio KC! The gym is a place where I find peace and punching a boxing bag is a great way to relieve stress from the day. It’s a great form of cardio as well and has helped me lose a majority of the weight I lost so far!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My name is Kimmy Camacho and I’m the owner of Lavish Lashes KC located in Liberty, MO. I specialize in classic, hybrid and volume sets that are customized specifically for your eye shape.
I started my lash extension journey a year ago when I decided I wanted to give others the same confidence lashes gave me! Coming to your lash appointment at Lavish Lashes KC is more than just getting your lashes done, it’s a safe space. My clients feel beautiful and heard everytime they leave.💜
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My late fiancé saw me before I could even see it. He passed away two years ago and I never believed he when he said I could do whatever I set my mind to. I always looked at the negatives. Now, I go through life knowing if it’s meant to work out it will. So, go for your dreams. Take that risk, because in the end you may find your true self because I did.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain about a year ago. As mentioned before my fiancé and the father of my child passed away two years ago and that first year I hid from life. I didn’t see any positive outlook on my future for the longest until I decided I couldn’t live like that anymore. I made job moves, started my weight loss journey, and began my career in lashing. I used my story as a tool to tell others that you don’t have to stay down for long. Feeling that pain is important, because it can lead to amazing things if you maneuver right. I like to say “It has to rain in order for the flowers to grow.” So don’t give up. Your pain can become a beautiful thing.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
I strive to always be 100% me all the time. Who you see at your lash appointment is the same, goofy person during the regular day. People feel authenticity and I am not one to stray away from that.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When I die, I hope people talk about how I continued to live life even though my world was taken from me. I hope people are reminded to not take anything for granted and to not be afraid to take chances. I want to have lived a life that people can look back on and be inspired.
