Peter Mitzelfeld on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Peter Mitzelfeld and have shared our conversation below.

Peter, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My son is the joy of my life, he is a toddler and is the happiest guy in the world. He makes me smile and laugh daily and is so much fun!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I got into the business of Real Estate because I have always worked in service. I feel that serving people in Real Estate is the best way I can use my knowledge and skills to help people. I come from a family of educators and I believe that knowledge is power and if I can share the best information on current market rates and set my clients expectations correctly that they can make the best decision for them. I also work with a great group of local lenders who can help my clients obtain a mortgage or answer any questions. I also constantly educate myself on current contract knowledge and negotiation skills so that I can legally protect my clients as best as possible to mitigate current and future risks. My main thing my clients and potential future clients should know is that I truly love making Real Estate as stress-free and risk-free as possible and have the tools and knowledge to find them an excellent new home, sell their current property or lease their investment property.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My parents instilled a strong work ethic in me as my father owned his own business and showed me what it takes to be successful and help people every day. I carry this through my business every day. My mother and sister are both educators so I view my Real Estate business as a way to educate people to make the most informed decisions that help them and their families in the greatest way.

Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
Yes, the times when my clients hear and understand my advise and take my experience into account is when they have the most success in reaching their goals with ease. Understanding the market, advertising and negotiating are powerful tools in our industry and create the best results every time.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Helping people achieve home ownership, becoming the best landlords they can be and having success in their rental properties and selling their home for the most the market value will bring. It can be a difficult and stressful process, but that is where my knowledge and help comes in to make it a more easy stress-free experience.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
When I am with Family or out in nature having a peaceful moment of quiet, meditating or exercising.
