Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Alexandria Brouard of Bethesda

Alexandria Brouard shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Alexandria, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Parenthood – I am loving every second of watching my daughter, Averie, grow and seeing her reach new milestones. Teaching her, answering the million questions she has, and just sitting back with my husband and realizing how much time truly does fly.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Alexandria Brouard, the founder of Cozy Home Studios. I help people create spaces that feel good to live and work in. For me, it’s not just about organizing a closet or styling a room, it’s about making sure your space actually supports your life and feels like home. What makes Cozy Home special is that I really focus on the person behind the space. Everyone’s story is different, so the way we set up your home or office should be too. Lately I’ve been diving more into helping busy professionals, busy moms and families with their homes and workspaces, which has been so rewarding because when your space flows, your whole day does too. At the end of the day, I just love helping people feel lighter, calmer, and more at home in their own lives.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a carefree, outspoken girl who loved deeply and gave freely. I measured life by connection whether that was laughing with friends until my stomach hurt or being the loyal one people leaned on. I was sensitive, curious, and full of dreams, even if I didn’t always know where to place them.

Over time, life and relationships shaped me. Some experiences taught me how to be strong, some taught me how to set boundaries, and others showed me how much of myself I was giving away. Today, I’m still that girl at heart, but I’m a different version of her wiser, softer in some ways and tougher in others. I’ve learned that becoming who I’m meant to be doesn’t mean losing who I was, it just means carrying her forward with more intention.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be, “You don’t have to shrink to be loved.” I’d remind her that her voice, her heart, and even her flaws were never too much. I’d tell her that the very parts she questioned in herself would one day be the things that made her strong, magnetic, and deeply connected to others.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
A cultural value I protect at all costs is family and not just in the traditional sense. For me, family means the people you love, the ones you show up for, and the community you build around you. I believe in protecting time with them, honoring loyalty, and creating space where people feel safe and supported. In everything I do, from my personal life to my work, I try to carry that sense of belonging and care forward, because at the end of the day, relationships are what last.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when my space reflects calm and I’m surrounded by the people I love. There’s something about walking into a room that feels settled, where everything has its place, that allows me to actually be present whether that’s laughing with my family, working with clarity, or just enjoying a quiet moment. That’s why Cozy Home means so much to me. It’s not just a brand, it’s the way I live, and helping others find that same sense of peace in their own homes is what keeps me grounded and fulfilled.
