We recently had the chance to connect with Rachael Baptiste and have shared our conversation below.
Rachael, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I have been doing a lot of speaking engagements. I had a huge fear of being seen. Once I processed through that significantly, itt’s kike the floodgates opened. Now I am being put in a significant space to be the thought leader I never would be.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Rachael. Founder and CEO of Crown Management a Project and Operations Company for Entertainment and Business. We do everything from event production to grant writing and business strategy. I started in 2016 as an artist manager then made a full business pivot into the place I am in now. There has always been an agility to what I am doing and it keep smy portfolio very colourful which I am grateful for.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
That giving up is easier than believing that I have everything I need to succeed, stay grounded and balanced. It kept me fron taking very important risks that would get me to that grounded and balanced place. No action towards a better self is wrong. It will always benefit your highest good.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Every year LOL! Sometimes I get very tired and say “Alrighty! That’s a wrap! Let’s close this business and get that 9-5 so that I can just rest!” shortly after sometimes almost immediately, there is a new client or email request for work in my inbox. Entreprenuership is my calling that I won’t be able to divorce.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. Too much energy to hide. Authenticity beats out who you know then what you know. That’s why I have had the longevity I have had. Who I am behind the scenes is who I am publically and it’s all held together by my personal accountability.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely. My affirmation comes from God. Not people. They will love you today and throw tomatoes tomorrow.
