We’re looking forward to introducing you to David Kakoro. Check out our conversation below.

Hi David, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
For sure I would hire myself, not being biased or anything but I think according to the planning that I take in every job so that the client is comfortable and has a splendid trips what makes me say that. I always strive to go out of my way and that’s just normal to me, always be different is what I would say.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Avant Xclusive Ltd is the name of the company, our website is www,avantxclusive.com.
We are a transport company operating in Nairobi Kenya but we can also take trips outside the country.
What makes us different is we love what we do and always strive to go the extra mile to make the client feel wanted.
Every journey is customized to the clients specifications.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I would say trust, respect and emotional intelligence is a must have when in this job.
It’s easy to break it let’s say if you don’t keep time.
Emotional intelligence is knowing what to say and when to say it.
Restoring them would take a bit of effort because you have to earn that broken trust.
Hard work, punctuality and personal dignity would slowly help restore what was broken.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Be kind and not too soft because at times people tend to take advantage of that.
Do good always. Live and let live.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire Obama because despite having power he is calm and down to earth.
His resilience and devotion to his people is un matched.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
When I am behind the wheel, it relaxes me in a way I can’t explain.
Driving those Kong distances and learning new skills and meeting people from all walks of life.
To me driving does it.
