Story & Lesson Highlights with Savannah Vinson of Williamsburg Brooklyn

Savannah Vinson shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Savannah, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day start with cuddles from my cats, Dior and Munchkin, basically them demanding breakfast. I make mine too: lately I’m deep in a lavender iced latte phase and then I head out to do a workout!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a travel creator who’s all about finding unique experiences and hidden gems, from small-town charm to big-city adventures. I also run a full-service casting agency called Queen Castings, where we book models, actors, and influencers for brand shoots. What makes us special is that we truly vouch for all shapes, sizes, and ethnicities—we’re about real representation and matching brands with talent that feels authentic.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Back in 2017, my lung collapsed and I had to have part of it removed—it was a major surgery that completely shifted my perspective. It made me realize life is too short not to go after what you want. So I graduated high school a year early, packed my bags, and moved from Ohio to New York to chase my career.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self, “Stop overthinking and start doing. The fear will pass, but the regret of not trying will stick around—so go for it.”

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
With my casting agency, I’m committed to changing the industry standard of paying talent 30 to 90 days after a shoot—which is unrealistic. We vouch to pay our models the same day as the shoot, no matter what. It’s about respect and making sure creatives are valued for their work right away.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand how much work goes into creating something that looks effortless. Whether it’s a photo shoot, a travel video, or a brand campaign—what people see in a few seconds often takes hours, days, or even weeks of planning and execution.
