Grace Michelle’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We recently had the chance to connect with Grace Michelle and have shared our conversation below.

Grace, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Right now, a normal day for me is pretty full. I’m a full-time college student and also work full-time, so most of my day is spent balancing classes, assignments, and work responsibilities. On top of that, I make time for my music, which is really important to me—it’s my creative outlet and something that keeps me balanced. It’s definitely busy, but I enjoy staying productive and working toward my goals.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Grace. I’m a full-time college student and full-time employee, and I also dedicate a lot of my time to my music. My work and studies keep me grounded and disciplined, while music gives me an outlet to express myself and connect with others. What makes my journey unique is the balance I’m learning between all three things that feed into each other, shaping both my personal growth and my voice. Right now, I’m focused on developing my sound, and sharing my work with a wider audience.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
The person who taught me the most about work is definitely my mom. Growing up—and even now—I’ve always seen her working whether it was for a company, for herself, or helping out friends and family. That example has shaped the way I approach my own work and goals.”

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
I think the fear that’s held me back the most at times has been the fear of failing or letting someone down. I’ve always set high expectations for myself, so the idea of falling short can be scary.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
In reality, most artists spend years building connections, and putting in consistent work behind the scenes before anyone notices. It’s a journey, not a quick leap, and I think that part doesn’t get talked about enough.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I’d stop being afraid to take risks. I’d focus less on overthinking and more on going after the things I want.
